Sycuan Casino Resort: Fun Facts & Cool Features
Did you know that Sycaun Casino Resort is the oldest casino in North County San Diego, having opened its doors over 35 years ago?
As the first Native American casino resort in California, it opened in 1983. Today, it offers a diverse range of gaming options and amenities to appeal to seasoned and novice gamblers. It is also ideal for families looking for a fun weekend getaway.
And if that wasn’t interesting enough, Sycaun Casino Resort is home to the world's largest free-standing sculpture. American sculptor Tony Smith created the five-story piece of art in 1983, when the casino opened.
Recently, Sycuan Casino Resort unveiled five giant, hand-painted bingo balls to commemorate the tribe's rich history in the game of bingo. The artwork was curated by Ruth-Ann Thorn (Luiseño), owner of EC Art Services. Additionally, Sycuan commissioned local artists to design the main tools of a signature casino game. It was a nod to their humble origins.
It's an impressive sight to behold and a great photo opportunity!
From top-notch restaurants, bars, entertainment, and luxurious spa, Sycuan Casino Resort has something for everyone in your group.
