The adventure of bounding through majestic sand dunes and over rugged terrain is showcased at the Rocky Point 4x4 Jam each fall in Puerto Peñasco. Launched in November 2022 as the area’s first Jeep Jam, the community of off-roaders quickly grew to include even more 4x4 enthusiasts.
The four-day 4-wheeling adventure in Rocky Point is the ultimate off-road adventure in the northwestern corner of Mexico where the Grand Desert of Altar hugs the Sea of Cortez. It’s a weekend full of fun, breathtaking scenery, exciting activities, and 4-wheeling camaraderie!
Terrific food, live music, and the vibrant culture of Puerto Peñasco add to the unforgettable beachside adventure. Hit the Malecòn for dinner at Moo Steahouse & Grille to share stories from your days of adventure. Savor the fresh essence of the sea when the trail leads you to El Barco Ostionera Oyster Farm just south of town. Whether you’re a seasoned off-roader or new to the scene, there’s something for everyone at the Rocky Point 4x4 Jam!

Fun Facts & Cool Features
At its onset, the November off-road adventure in Puerto Peñasco, Sonora, Mexico put out a call primarily to Jeep aficionados. As adventure has no bounds, this quickly expanded to even more 4x4 enthusiasts. Now all full-size 4x4 vehicles are invited to join the jam, though sorry, no SxS.
In addition to getting together with like-minded 4x4 enthusiasts, a fantastic feature of the Rocky Point 4x4 Jam is the opportunity to head out over thrilling trails around Rocky Point. Each adventure is led by local off-road experts and designed for all skills, ensuring thrills for all.
November is a great time to be in Rocky Point as the weather is ideal for taking in warm rays during the day and cool breezes by night. It´s not hot and not cold. It´s the perfect time to be out in your vehicle, hitting the trails. Not to mention the desert and sea landscapes serve as the perfect backdrop for the Rocky Point 4x4 Jam.
A fun fact for off-roaders is that organizers are always looking for volunteers and vendors to join the Jam. So even if you’re not out 4-wheeling you can still be part of the fun.
