This quaint farm is dedicated to providing quality care for their animals rather than simply entertaining tourists. And while care comes first, they do welcome visitors for educational trips that both children and adults will love.

Before my visit, I called the farm to inquire about their location. Their friendly staff happily answered my questions, and I couldn't wait to see the animals with my younger teens in tow.

Upon arriving at the farm on a Friday afternoon, we were greeted by a charming hayride experience. We climbed aboard a wagon pulled by a large tractor and embarked on a leisurely tour through the lush fields.

As we ventured through the farm, the owner, who doubles as a knowledgeable guide, fed the deer that approached the wagon. It was both exciting and heartwarming to see these gentle creatures up close, especially the adorable fawns that tagged along with the herd.

Throughout the ride, our guide shared fascinating information about the farm and the deer that reside there. He discussed the ins and outs of the animals' habitats, shedding light on the challenges they face and the reasons behind his commitment to their care.

This blend of education and fun made our visit to Black Pine Deer Farm in McCall, Idaho truly memorable. The genuine passion exhibited by the family that owns the farm is evident, as they have been raising European Fallow deer for many years.

Travelers and vacationers seeking an enriching and delightful experience that combines a love for animals with an opportunity to learn should not miss out on Black Pine Deer Farm. This hidden gem promises an unforgettable outing for families and curious minds alike!

Located in the picturesque town of McCall, Idaho, the Black Pine Deer Farm was established in 1998. Boasting an original population of 54, the farm's deer population has grown exponentially over the years. The family that owns and operates the facility is incredibly knowledgeable and always eager to answer any questions about the farm's history and offerings.

What particularly caught my interest was learning how the family utilizes traditional deer-raising methods that date back over 500 years, passed down from their European ancestors. Not only does this provide a unique insight into the ancestral techniques of deer farming, but it also speaks to the dedication and passion that the family has for their work.

And while you're out on the trailer at the Black Pine Deer Farm, you'll have the unique opportunity to simply sit and watch the deer in their natural habitat. They may even approach you and curiously interact with you, as they did with one person in our group—who actually fed them by hand!

I was initially worried about this encounter, but the majestic deer, many boasting impressive antlers, seemed to be just as fascinated by us as we were by them, eagerly following the trailer and exploring the expansive pastures.
