About

Located just off I-55, My Father's Place, or MFP as it's affectionately known by the locals, is an excellent choice for a fresh and affordable meal.

Offering a simple menu and a convenient location, this eatery stands out for its competitively priced yet delicious fare. Among their popular dishes are their charbroiled burgers and mouth-watering chili dogs.

Primarily an outdoor dining establishment, My Father's Place exudes a laid-back, hip atmosphere perfect for vacationers visiting McCall. Simply walk up to the counter, place an order, and relax at your table while your food is being prepared. Or, if you prefer, they also offer takeout options.

This sweet restaurant is a family-friendly establishment, making it an ideal spot for kids and adults alike. And the nostalgic vibe, reminiscent of old-school diners, adds a charming touch that's sure to bring a smile to your face.

And after a round of golf at McCall Golf Club, my friend and I decided to stop by for lunch. We quickly discovered that it was one of the best meals we'd had in the area. I wholeheartedly recommend paying a visit to My Father's Place during your stay in McCall to experience the scrumptious food and warm hospitality that made our trip all the more memorable.

Vibe

It's a pretty simple and straightforward location with an older vibe to it. Definitely a step back in time and a family-friendly atmosphere!

I would also say it has a bit of a more retro feel (and that is perfect since it really offers the best food from an old-style diner). It's a fun and lighthearted restaurant that seemed to be the place to be in town.

Welcoming, with a “Cheers” kind of vibe, I found that everyone was smiling and friendly, too.

If you’re looking for a blast from the past and some great food, My Father’s Place offers the best vibe!

My Father's Place: Menu & Drinks

The menu here offers a ton of choices, so it took me a while to decide what I wanted to eat. And after a bit, I decided to go for their famous burger!

My meal included the Fire House charbroiled burger (you can get the same thing with chicken, too). It has a big quarter-pound burger cooked with a nice char on the outside. This burger is then topped with jalapenos, bacon, and cheddar, and let me tell you, it was spicy, salty, and full of flavor. I loved how juicy the burger was.

I also got a side order of Chili Cheese Fries, which were very hot and covered with a meaty, smoky chili. It was a whole meal itself, really, and I didn't have to eat anything else, but I am glad I did.

Finally, I had to get a shake with my meal to cool things down. I chose the Pineapple Shake because it was really something different. It had a lot of pineapple flavor to it, which was surprisingly tart and very much a frozen treat.

Everything I ordered was incredible!

Local Tips

  • I liked that they had some allergy-sensitive items since I have a child with food sensitivities (I know they had a gluten-free bun and fries to offer, as well as other options).
  • They are not open on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, so make sure to plan your trip around their schedule so you can be sure to get a great meal in.
  • The lines were long when I visited (and I was told that was their normal busy levels), but they moved quickly and served us within a matter of minutes.
  • Even though it's busy, parking is pretty easy.
