About

Vacationing in the Lookout Mountain area allows visitors to check out neighboring states, Tennessee and Georgia.

South of Chattanooga, in the sleepy burg of Rising Fawn, Georgia, is a restaurant worth exploring. Canyon Grill is not your typical Southern restaurant serving "meat-and-three" food. They have fused Southern comfort food with mouth-watering unique creations.

Canyon Grill was founded in 1996 by Lawton Haygood, the former Texas chef who returned to his Lookout Mountain roots to create a refined Southern restaurant. In 2014, Johnny and Jessica Holland became owners after being mentored by Chef Haygood.

Today, the Hollands continue to hone their craft to perfection by sourcing local ingredients and respecting tried-and-true culinary techniques.

The land where Canyon Grill stands was once an agricultural hub where crops thrived, and families came together. Inspired by this rich past, Canyon Grill ensures a sense of community, bringing people together, just like in old times.

With the striking view of Lookout Mountain as its backdrop, dining at Canyon Grill is a sojourn into exceptional fare.

The menu changes daily based on sourced available food, which tells you how much attention to detail Canyon Grill puts into every dish.

For a taste of the divine, plan a meal at Canyon Grill, where every bite respects the restaurant's heritage, showcases the area's fresh food, and will have you craving more.

Vibe

When you pull up to Canyon Grill, don't let the Cracker-Barrel-cloned facade deceive you. Inside is a magical taste tour that will wow your tastebuds.

The decor reflects a chic country look, complete with painted shiplap ceilings and walls. Abundant windows showcase nature's wonder while letting natural light warmly fill the room.

Strands of white lights hang about the room, making the area feel cozy and inviting. Artwork celebrating Lookout Mountain adorns the wall, and tables are spaced to allow for family-friendly meals or intimate romantic dinners.

Canyon Grill: Menu & Drinks

We saved the best part to discuss for last: the food!

Canyon Grill prides itself on how fresh their seafood is, noting that no inland restaurant can claim their seafood is "flown in daily." The seafood at Canyon Grill comes from fishermen and not suppliers. The seafood arrives on ice twice weekly to ensure you get the best catch around!

Because of this attention to detail, the menu at Canyon Grill changes daily. With that said, here are some notable "regulars" that guests rave about.

The grilled rainbow trout is a delicate treat. Sourced locally, the fish is fresh, grilled to perfection, and paired with a light lemon-herb sauce.

The Pork Tenderloin is another fan-favorite that is tasty and filling. Diners can have the pork grilled or pan-seared before it's oven-roasted with garlic rosemary cream sauce.

Vegetarians will marvel at plentiful salads like the Strawberry and Bleu Cheese Salad. This scrumptious salad starts with mixed lettuce followed by strawberries, bleu cheese crumbles, red onion, pecans, and cracked black pepper. Balsamic Vinaigrette is drizzled on top to crown this culinary achievement.

To quench your thirst, try any bottled beverage or iced tea. While they offer unsweetened iced tea, try the Southern staple of sweet tea. It's dessert in a glass!

Canyon Grill is a hop-skip-and-jump from Chattanooga and promises to satisfy the hungriest of appetites, those accustomed to fine dining, all within a relaxed country setting.
