About

There's a story behind every good meal, and at Nephi's Smokehouse, the tale is as rich as their smoked meats.

The history is deeply rooted in family values and a passion for flavorsome food. Nephi Agustin opened the eatery, bringing to life a dream that had been simmering for quite some time.

Drawing from a wealth of family recipes, Nephi and his brother Kalani learned the art of cooking from their father, Adam. The brothers were always in the kitchen cooking for graduation parties, baby showers, and family reunions. Their dedication to perfecting their skills and creating dishes was the genesis of the smokehouse.

The restaurant's success is a result of customer satisfaction and its impact on the community. For instance, take the scholarship they established. They created it to honor Nephi's nephews, Dexen and Kaeden Matsuyama, who tragically passed away. Such initiatives demonstrate the restaurant's commitment to the community.

The smokehouse's location makes it ideal for a bite after or before your day of sightseeing. Several blocks away are the Maka'eo Walking Path and Kamakahonu National Historic Park, making it easy to have a picnic at any of these iconic landmarks.

Head to Nephi's Smokehouse for authentic smoked meats for breakfast or lunch.

Vibe

Despite being tucked away in the corner of Kaiwi Square, the restaurant exudes an inviting charm that draws diners in.

The ambiance is unpretentious, mirroring the straightforward yet delicious menu offerings. It's perfect after a tour of the Cloud Forest Sanctuary, where you can relax with a hearty meal and revel in a friendly environment.

The decor is simple yet tasteful, focusing on creating a relaxed dining experience. It's the type of vibe that encourages connection over shared plates.

At Nephi's Smokehouse, the vibe is as much a part of the experience as the food. It encapsulates the essence of Hawaii: warm, welcoming, and filled with aloha.

Nephi's Smokehouse: Menu & Drinks

A popular dish is the Chicken Patty Loco Moco. This classic Hawaiian dish consists of white rice with a hamburger patty, fried egg, and brown gravy. The twist here comes with the chicken patty, which adds a unique flavor to the traditional recipe. It's a hearty meal that's sure to fill you up.

Another must-try is the Steak Loco Moco. This dish is a meat lover's delight. The perfectly cooked steak sits atop a bed of rice and a fried egg and is doused with a generous serving of gravy. This dish is filling and provides excellent value for money.

A breakfast favorite is the Ube Pancakes. Ube, a purple yam native to the Philippines, gives these pancakes their vibrant color and distinct flavor. And since Nehphi's opens at 7 AM, these pancakes will energize you for a day at Kikaua Point Park or Akaka Falls State Park

When you're ready for hearty fare that's uniquely Hawaiian, add Nephi's Smokehouse to your Kona vacation itinerary.
