About

If you’re vacationing in Henderson or Las Vegas, NV, and you’re an avid golfer, add Shadow Creek Golf Club to your “must-do” list.

This heavenly golf oasis is north of both suburbs and will astound you with its beauty, tees, and amenities. Shadow Creek Golf Club was designed by renowned course architect Tom Fazio, who has built Pinehurst Resort, PGA National Members Club, and many others. Tom has said, “It is such a special place from so many aspects—great golf, great environment, great services—a place one can’t wait to return.”

Shadow Creek Golf Club is part of MGM Resorts International. The hotel can arrange tee times, and a limousine will drive you and your entourage to and from the course. Upon arrival, your caddie will greet and advise you on the challenges of each hole and offer interesting historical facts about the course.

The 18-hole course was built in 1989 on 350 acres for an astounding 60 million dollars. Now open to the public, Shadow Creek Golf Club is one of the most expensive courses. The par 72 course is 7,560 yards and has a rating of 74.5.

On average, it takes about 3.5 hours to play a round of golf at Shadow Creek. If your budget can swing it (see what I did there?), a round of golf here will be one of your top outdoor activities in Henderson or Las Vegas.

Fun Facts & Cool Features

While I love to golf, I’m nothing more than an amateur who hits the perfect shot into the traps and water every time! So when looking for things to do in Henderson, NV, friends gave me the opportunity of a lifetime with a trip to the prestigious Shadow Creek Golf Club.

I’d read the reviews and even seen the pictures, but they don’t prepare you for the wow factor. My friends booked the outing through the MGM in Las Vegas, and when we arrived, we slipped into a limousine like golf pros!

Our drive through the arid desert had me wondering how a lush golf course like Shadow Creek could exist. When we pulled off the main road, I was astounded by the greenery at the front gate. The drive to the clubhouse had me wondering if we were in North Carolina and not Nevada!

The clubhouse’s design was a tip-of-the-hat to Augusta, and seeing the personal lockers of celebrities like Michael Jordan and Phil Mickelson, I knew we were at a unique course.

Our caddie was highly knowledgeable and patient with my lackluster golfing, even offering helpful tips. He was also a walking encyclopedia about Shadow Creek’s history, like over 20,000 trees were planted and that there’s an elaborate underground watering system.

Despite my typical lousy game of golf, I will admit that playing at Shadow Creek Golf Club was a one-of-a-kind experience. It is not only my favorite thing I did on my Henderson, Nevada vacation, but it tops all other golf experiences, too!
