Loggerhead Park

About

Loggerhead Park is a small pocket park on Hollywood North Beach Park, named after the loggerhead turtles that inhabit the area.

But this beach is unique because it is quaint and quiet, with access to the Atlantic Ocean. Many hail Loggerhead Park as one of the best beaches in the area. Others describe it as a very chill beach, perfect for relaxing.

Because the beach is named after the endangered turtle, the focus is on providing a safe habitat for Loggerheads to thrive. Consequently, certain areas are off-limits to visitors to protect their habitat.

A few Adirondack chairs are on site, and some picnic tables are near the palms. A restroom is available, although it’s closed for maintenance at times, so check online to confirm before arriving.

On either side of Loggerhead Park are private homes, towering condos, and apartments. This absence of tall structures and homes is what makes Loggerhead Park charming.

Loggerhead Park is popular for weddings and other special events. And because no highrises are nearby, it’s also ideal for scenic sunrises and kite surfing.

Fun Facts & Cool Features

Swimming is allowed at Loggerhead Park, but no lifeguards are present. The entry into the ocean is gradual, like the surrounding beaches, resulting in calmer waves and currents.

Remember that beaches on either side of Loggerhead may be private and off-limits.

Loggerhead Park is where you bring your family or friends for a memorable day in the sun and surf. You can enjoy a picnic at one of the tables, search for seashells, splash in the waves, and build sandcastles. All of which would make a Fort Lauderdale visit outstanding!
