About

With a motto of "We bring people together," you know you're in for a refreshing and memorable dining experience at Public House Jaco Grill.

This restaurant opened in 2019 and occupied what was once Los Amigos Jaco, open from 2005 to 2019. The two-story eatery is in Central Jaco and features an air-conditioned downstairs and an open-air bar on the second floor.

Public House Jaco Grill is your go-to for ice-cold beer after a day soaking up the sun on nearby Jaco Beach. Whether you crave a classic import, draft, craft, or regional favorite, they have brews for every taste.

Of note are the Big Ass Smoothies that will appeal to those needing a refreshing non-alcoholic drink. More on those shortly.

Public House Jaco Grill has a diverse lunch and dinner menu, but a notable plus is that they serve breakfast. And since they open at 7 AM, you can grab a hearty meal before hitting the beach or sightseeing and still beat the crowds.

When you need a lively and entertaining restaurant with international entrees and deliciously refreshing drinks, make a beeline to Public House Jaco Grill.

Vibe

Public House Jaco Grill would be labeled a sports bar by North American standards due to the abundance of flat-screen TVs and diverse beer selections. But this eatery shatters that stereotype like a hammer to glass!

The curb appeal is magnetic, with the bright marquee sign glowing like a beacon for those seeking Pura Vida. The double-decker restaurant features a downstairs pumping AC with flat screens, wood decor, a full bar, and a family-friendly vibe.

Upstairs is open-air with bird' s-eye views of the Jaco strip, more flat-screen TVs, and ample seating. Al fresco dining is also available on the ground level in front of the main entrance, giving guests plenty of seating options.

The bar's galvanized steel wainscot beneath the counter with green LEDs gives the illusion of being in the rainforest. No matter where you sit, the views are stimulating, with glimpses of the bustling town life or a peek at the nearby beachfront, making it a must-do when in the area.

Public House Jaco Grill: Menu & Drinks

The menu combines traditional Costa Rican flavors with international cuisine, ensuring something for everyone. We'll focus on their breakfast, lunch, and dinner standouts.

Early risers will appreciate the diversity of breakfasts, including oatmeal, bagel sandwiches, and fruit plates. But where Public House Jaco Grill shines are the entrees, like the PH Breakfast Tacos. Warm flour tortillas are stuffed with scrambled eggs, cheese, sausage, carne asada, or gallo pinto beans. Add fresh avocado, and these handhelds will energize you for a day at the Surfer Factory Surf School.

The lunch and dinner menu offers regional favorites, including Thai, pasta, and burgers. A standout is the Thai Green or Red Curry. This classic Thai dish features fresh coconut milk, chile dulce, onions, carrots, mushrooms, broccoli, and basil served with white rice. Add chicken or shrimp for an additional cost, and alert your server to the spice level you prefer.

You can never go wrong with a burger at the beach, and the creative options will please everyone in your crowd. All burgers are made from 100% USDA Angus beef, so you know you're getting a juicy, great-tasting burger.

Instead of diving into the restaurant's diverse beer and cocktails, let's explore the Big Ass Smoothies! Each flavor-combo is 32 oz deep-dive into a fresh and icy taste sensation. If you're heading out to explore the Manuel Antonio National Park, grab a Peanut Butter Protein smoothie for the road. This smoothie showcases fresh bananas, peanut butter, yogurt, and 100% Whey protein.

Dining at Public House Jaco Grill elevates any vacation to Costa Rica with its exquisite menu, cold drinks, and festive atmosphere.
