Welcome to Sonoran Sea Resort in Puerto Peñasco—an oceanfront haven on Sandy Beach. Lined with palm trees and set along Blvd. Paseo de la Duna, Sonoran Sea Rocky Point offers the perfect blend of comfort, elegance, and seaside fun. Whether you’re planning a family escape or romantic retreat, you’ll find everything you need for an unforgettable vacation without ever leaving the resort.

Of course, we always encourage our guests to explore and experience the best of Rocky Point. Every resort has its own personality, and the Sonoran Sea Resort is no exception. With cantera stone finishes, intricate tile work, and a stunning lobby, this beachfront property radiates coastal charm and understated luxury.

The resort’s East and West towers form a shallow “V” design, ensuring that all units feature direct ocean views from spacious patios. Many guests favor the East Building for its dazzling sunset views, while others love the West Building’s panoramic beach scenes and city lights from Whale Hill. Between the towers, you’ll find three beachfront pools, two jacuzzis, rows of palapas, and one of Rocky Point’s friendliest swim-up bars—making it easy to unwind in true Sonoran Sea style.

Dramatic high and low tides continuously sculpt the coastline along Sandy Beach. You will surely come across vendors selling silver jewelry, offering hair braiding, and preparing fresh mangos topped with chile and a squirt of lime, among other treasures. Wade into the sparkling inviting water and hail a Banana Boat for a wild ride, or rent your own Jet Skis, paddleboard, kayak, or just float weightless in the softly undulating sea.

Depending on the time of day, or day of the week, you may find you have this beautiful place mostly to yourself! Enhancing your stay at the Sonoran Sea are nice touches like an on-site coffee bar and convenience store and a surprisingly complete gym with views out to the waves. Ramon’s Restaurant on-site has a big following, especially for Sunday Brunches. There are also 2 BBQ areas, a children’s play zone, and a tennis court on the secure grounds.

The Sonoran Sea offers various floor plans, perfect for couples up to larger groups in the top floor penthouses. Each unit provides complete kitchens, washer and dryer, and of course unbeatable views. All condominiums include roomy patios, with spacious interiors offering the feel of a home away from home.

Unique among the Resorts along Blvd. Paseo de la Duna, you can easily walk from Sonoran Sea to some of the most popular entertainment choices located conveniently just beyond the entry gate. No driving to town, no taxi required. Off-road vehicle rentals can also be found nearby, ready for a ride over the dunes and desert trails.

Sonoran Sea is steps away from Banditos Bar and Restaurant, home to live music every weekend as well as Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers when in town. In addition, Garufa Steak House, Sonoran Grill, and the Sonoran Spa are all less than five minutes beyond the lobby.
