About

History marries flavor in a rustic barn from the 1800s in the Barn-B-Que Smokehouse!

The story behind this iconic Lake Ozark is intriguing and mysterious.

The barn was constructed in Oak Harbor, Ohio, around 1850. The area was rich with white oak trees used to craft the barn's frame, an impressive structure measuring 40 feet by 60 feet.

The mystery of our tale lies in one fact: how did an Ohio barn end up at Lake Ozark? It's a head-scratcher, for sure, that even owner Bill Borders hasn't a clue. But when Bill purchased the barn, he saw its potential as a BBQ joint.

Under Bill's leadership, the Barn-B-Que Smokehouse has new life in its timeworn walls. It's a space that echoes the craftsmanship of a bygone era and pays homage to the community that once surrounded it.

Along with its incredible story, Barn-B-Que Smokehouse has become one of the top BBQ spots on Lake Ozark, making it a must-see when visiting.

Vibe

The charm of Barn-B-Que Smokehouse is nothing short of enchanting. The historic barn, set against the backdrop of the Missouri landscape, beckons visitors into a world where history meets smoky taste sensations.

The interior of the Barn-B-Que Smokehouse is a carefully curated blend of old-world charm and modern comfort. The aged wood, weathered by time, speaks volumes about the history embedded in every fiber of the barn.

The carefully chosen and thoughtfully arranged antique decor serves as a bridge connecting the present with a bygone era. It's an environment that embraces patrons with a sense of nostalgia when craftsmanship was revered and communal gatherings revered.

The inviting warmth of the decor complements the hearty barbecue offerings, creating a synergy that elevates the visit. Each piece of aged wood and antique contributes to the inviting ambiance. Here, guests feel welcomed and embraced by Ohio and Missouri's history.

Barn-B-Que Smokehouse: Menu & Drinks

What makes Barn-B-Que Smokehouse unique is that it also serves breakfast.

The Pulled Pork Breakfast Bowl is a breakfast-champ for those with a hearty appetite. Imagine a medley of scrambled eggs, crisp bacon, savory onions, earthy mushrooms, golden potatoes, vibrant green bell peppers, and a generous sprinkle of cheese—all crowned by the signature slow-smoked pulled pork. It's a creative spin on a breakfast classic that will have you craving more!

Moving on to dinner entrees, one can't go wrong with either the brisket or pork dinner. The meats are cooked "low and slow" (low temperature for a lengthy time), ensuring the "real McCoy" taste and tenderness associated with Southern BBQ. Served with two sides, it's a tasty treat that is satisfying!

If you're dining with friends or family, try The Hog Trough, which serves 4-6 people. This heaping feast comes with 1 rack of baby back ribs, 1 lb. of pulled pork, 2 buns, and 4 sides.

Beverages at Barn-B-Que Smokehouse include coffee, chocolate milk, juices, and assorted soft drinks.

On your Lake Ozark getaway, visit the Barn-B-Que Smokehouse, where top-notch BBQ and a rich history merge in a historic barn.
