Things To Do Near Sonoran Sky Resort
Beaches
A trip to Rocky Point wouldn’t be complete without enjoying its extensive beaches. In fact, there are several to choose from, and the great thing is they’re all easily reachable from your vacation rental property. The Sonoran Sky is located right on the main area of Sandy Beach, providing easy access for extensive walks up and down the over 3 mile span. Other local beaches include neighboring Playa Hermosa, Cholla Bay to the west and Mirador on the east side of town, as well as Las Conchas and the pristine shores of Playa Encanto further to the east.

If you’re interested in nature, you’ll find there are plenty of things to do in the nearby area. While in Rocky Point, be sure to visit El Pinacate y Gran Desierto de Altar Biosphere Reserve. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a biosphere reserve in the Sonoran Desert. The area is known for its almost otherworldly landscape of craters, sand, and dunes. In fact, it is so similar to the lunar surface that this region was used by NASA to train astronauts as part of the Apollo program. There are also numerous species of flora and fauna within the reserve, some of which are threatened.
Visit Historic Old Port
