Cancun Mexico is a tropical destination known for its top-of-the-line vacation rentals and lively nightlife. Rich local flavor and an ever-increasing number of tourists combine to make Cancun one of the most desirable property management opportunities in the world.

There are so many points of interest that visitors often miss out on some of the more unique sights and offerings. But don’t worry, we’ve done most of the research for you! Here are some of our favorite places to visit in Cancun Mexico:

Musa Underwater Museum

You read that correctly. Underwater! This unique museum off of Isla Mujeres features more than 400 statues for snorkelers and divers to visit. This is a great activity to add to your itinerary if you’re already visiting the nearby coral reef.

Cenote Dos Ojos

This natural wonder is located several hours drive from Cancun, but it’s well worth the detour. The captivating limestone sinkholes are legendary among cave divers and snorkelers. “Dos Ojos” means two eyes in Spanish, and that’s just what these cenotes resemble. The clearwater pools, which remain 77 degrees Fahrenheit year-round, are connected by a navigable cavern.

Rio Secreto

Visit the Yucatan peninsula’s largest non-submerged cave. The “Secret River” features an breathtaking number of stalagmites and stalactites. Guided tours are your best bet for swimming through this complex underground river.

Grand Mambo Cafe

Dance up a storm at this lively club. Locals flock to the Mambo to dance salsa, meringue and more. Not a dancer? Relax with a drink and enjoy the live music Wednesday through Saturday.

Coba

Chichen Itza attracts the majority of tourists, but the ancient ruins of Coba offer an even better lesson in Mayan culture and history. The highlight of the site has got to be climbing to the top of the 130-step pyramid.
