About

Puerto Peñasco has hosted the “Rocky Point Rally | The Greatest Motorcycle Fiesta South of the Border for over 20 years. The renowned beach side biker rally has consistently grown since it began in 2001. Nearly 8,000 motorcycles roll into Rocky Point each year over U.S. Veteran's Day weekend for the 4-day fiesta. The Rocky Point Rally welcomes bikers from across Mexico and the US. From the US side, bikers and fiesta goers ride in from Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, California, Washington, Oregon, to Alaska and beyond.  Bikers from across Mexico also report this as one of the top rallies in the country.  Plan early as condos and homes can be booked out a year in advance, so be sure to contact us to book your Rocky Point vacation rental!

For 2024, the Rocky Point Rally will take place November 7th - 10th.

How to Register

Early bird registration  is available after Memorial Day (15% discount for online registration / $30 US at event). Registrants get a Rocky Point Rally package with the official patch, pin, pass for pirate ship cruise, rally merch, and more. In addition, folks registering at the Barclin gas station just north of town can take a break and be treated to fish tacos prepared by the culinary school students in Rocky Point.  For online registrants, packets are available at Will Call.

Where and Why you should Register!

You can register online before the Rally or on Thursday and Friday (9 am—5 pm) at the event. The main registration area is the first gas station just beyond the bridge when riding in from Sonoyta. There is also a registration tent set up outside the Puesta del Sol Restaurant at Playa Bonita Hotel both days. We encourage bikers and friends to register, as all proceeds from this charitable part of the event go to local charities.

Since it began in 2001, bikers at the Rocky Point Rally have given back to the town of Puerto Peñasco through registration fees. The Rocky Point Rally donations have raised more than $180,000 US for local charity and service groups over the years. Many of these organizations also sell drinks and food at the Old Port over Rally Weekend.  There are seven charity groups that receive funds from the Rocky Point Rally registration and events.

These include:

  • Fire Department
  • Local Red Cross (and ambulance) service
  • Municipal family service groups (Integral Family Development [DIF])
  • Women’s cancer screening group
  • La Montaña school for children with special needs
  • Home for the elderly
  • Educational scholarships (DIF)

Rally funds raised for these groups come from:

1. Registration Fee
2. Poker Run cards - You can sign up online prior or at registration spots (takes place Thur & Fri)
3. Bike Show -  Takes place at City Hall on Sat. a.m. right before the Bike Parade through town

When registering at either site, be sure to give a shout-out to the outstanding Rally volunteers. They are also a great source of giving directions or helping out where needed. A separate tent at the main registration area just north of town is also where you can purchase additional official apparel.  By Saturday you can also find the official t-shirts and additional items at the gift shop located at the Playa Bonita Resort.

Rally Events & Activities

Official Rally events include a Charity Poker Run (Thurs & Fri) - either self-guided or join the meet-up on Friday, the Saturday Bike Show at City Hall followed by the traditional Bike Parade through town, plus a Queen of the Streets Ladies' Bike Show on Friday at Margarita Mermaids, and the traditional Friday night Beach Fiesta at Playa Bonita where it all began over 2 decades ago.

There's no doubt the Malecon (Old Port area) by day and Calle 13 by night are central hubs for rallygoers, plus the Mirador area is also a popular spot. Bars, restaurants, and open-air venues from Cholla Bay to Sandy Beach belt out music with live bands all weekend and all are ready to welcome you with open arms.

If you've never been to the Rocky Point Rally, which has been deemed a mix of "Mardi Gras meets Sturgis", now is the time to plan your trip, even if you are not a biker… you are sure to have fun!
