Inside this Victorian-style home is one of the best breakfast and brunch restaurants in Arcata! Known for their mason-jar sized mimosas, Southwestern-influenced dishes, and cozy atmosphere, this is a spot you want to add to your itinerary.

Location & Environment

Situated on the corner of Tenth and I St., sits this iconic and charming yellow-painted home. Just next door are the popular Los Bagels and Arcata Scoop eateries as well. To enter, you must walk up a small set of stairs and enter through the double-doors. At the front of the restaurant, there is a small host stand directly in front of you. You can request to sit by their over-sized windows for a street view, or even in the back/bar area. The bar seating wraps around the entirety of the bar counter. There are a couple shorter tables for accessibility, if needed.

The overall vibe of the restaurant from the exterior is vintage and cozy. The inside is in fact cozy as well, but it has more of a modern cafe vibe - something you may not assume from outside. This restaurant is family owned and operated, so you can really feel the passion for what they do behind every dish!

In addition, it comes with fresh bananas and berries on top. Not only is the French Toast the perfect texture, but they are not stingy when it comes to the extras. You won't regret this choice!

Most of their menu consists of hearty, savory dishes. For example, they have seven benedict flavors, four potato skillets, and an option to build your own plate! Some popular choices include the Solana Sunrise Benedict and the California Skillet. On the Solana Sunrise Benedict, you get free-range turkey, tomato, avocado, poached eggs, and alfalfa sprouts - all on an English muffin. Alternatively, the California Skillet comes with house fries, free range turkey, avocado, green onions, mushrooms, jack cheese, 2 eggs your way, and hollandaise sauce. Both of those top choices are colorful and tasty!
