Welcome to

Delaware Beaches

Delaware’s wide beaches, dune grass, tidal bays, and walkable towns along the Eastern Seaboard create a coast that feels easy to love. With 30 miles of pristine coastline, and some of the cleanest water in the country, the beaches of Delaware sit within a short drive of Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and northern Virginia. This makes Delaware’s beaches a favorite escape for long weekends, family vacations, and full summer stays.

Visitors to Delaware’s beaches come for clean sand, gentle surf, bike paths, nature preserves, tax-free shopping, and a full calendar of coastal events.

Rehoboth Beach is known for its lively mile-long boardwalk, Funland, independent boutiques, galleries, and a dining scene that ranges from casual crab houses to chef-led restaurants. It has welcomed vacationers since the late 1800s, after its 1873 founding as a Methodist seaside camp. Today, it balances classic beach tradition with modern energy.

Bethany Beach offers a quieter style of vacation. Its compact boardwalk, bandstand concerts, guarded beach, and small-town pace make it a favorite for families who want room to relax. The town was founded in 1901 by members of the Christian Church, and its early focus on community still shapes its welcoming feel.

Food is a major part of the trip. Along the Delaware Beaches, menus highlight steamed blue crabs, crab cakes, oysters, clams, rockfish, boardwalk fries, saltwater taffy, ice cream, and local craft beer. Each town has its own pace, but both keep beach days easy.

From sunrise walks to seafood dinners, Delaware Beaches deliver a simple promise: come for the coast and stay for the memories.
