World’s Best Beaches: Casago destinations hit the mark
In 2025, beaches hugging the Mediterranean shores in Greece and the South Pacific sands topped TripAdvisor’s global list for travelers. Particularly of note is Eagle Beach in Aruba, which came in at No. 3. Aruba is notably a desirable Casago destination in the Caribbean. In addition, three beaches in Mexico figured in the top 25 column.
With over 6,900 miles of coastline outlining Mexico, there are undoubtedly endless spectacular beaches worth discovering. Playa Delfines in Cancun, Playa Norte in Isla Mujeres, as well as La Balandra beach in La Paz earned well-deserved spots on the 2025 list.
Playa Delfines
With stunning white sand and even more breathtaking turquoise waters, at #16 Playa Delfines in Cancun is an expansive public beach dotted with inviting palapas. The popular playa, also known as the Mirador (observation point), is home to Cancun’s infamous sign.
For many travelers, Playa Delfines provides a first glimpse of the unbelievably bright aqua waves of the Caribbean lapping the shore. In keeping true to its name, at times one can spot dolphins pass by this privileged spot located along Blvd. Kukulcan in Cancun’s tourist corridor.
The absence of resorts along this pristine stretch of beach showcases the area’s intense contrast of soft white sand and astoundingly crystal-clear water. Free parking, restrooms, children’s playground, and bucket-list photo opportunities make Playa Delfines one of the best of the best.
Playa Norte
A short 20-minute ferry ride from Cancun takes one to the magical island that is Isla Mujeres. Playa Norte on the northern side of Isla Mujeres comes in at #19 as one of the World’s Best Beaches.
At just about 5 miles long and only half a mile wide at its broadest point, the entire island of Isla Mujeres is a wonder to behold. Mayan ruins on the southern part of the island honor Ixchel, the Mayan goddess of love, fertility, water, and the moon.
Playa Norte on the northern tip of Isla Mujeres is walking distance from the ferry terminal and indeed the sparkling jewel of the island. The public beach is known for its calm shallow waters, hidden nooks under towering palm trees, lively restaurants and bars dotting the landscape.
Playa Norte’s clear waters offer several spots as well for snorkeling. With the beach stretching just under a mile long, it is easy to wander along Playa Norte while your mind contemplates the astounding hues of the Caribbean.
La Balandra
Balandra Beach located about half an hour from the center of La Paz makes the best of the best list at #21. This incredible, magical cove on the Sea of Cortez is home to the famous rock formation in the form of a mushroom.
This pristine beach is distinguished by its phenomenally clear water, shallow tide, and outstanding beauty. It’s not hard to see why this is one of the World’s Best Beaches.
The Natural Protected Area of Balandra is recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. One of the best ways to visit Balandra is by small boat, with various tour options departing from La Paz daily.
As a protected area, there are two three-hour entry periods for visitors coming in by land and the beach itself is limited to 450 people. Several hiking trails surround Balandra, leading up into the red-hued hills dotted with cactus.
