We are pleased to welcome Craig Rashkow of Roofstock in the transition of several former Vacasa markets to Casago’s owner-centric franchise model. Craig is a seasoned professional in the hospitality industry and is already doing an exceptional job at leading local teams in Tampa and Charleston, SC. Craig and his team will also soon be sharing their expertise and hospitality along Oregon’s Central Coast in the Pacific Northwest.

When preparing for the launch of Craig’s teams in Tampa, Charleston, and the Central Oregon Coast, Casago/Vacasa CEO Steve Schwab had the opportunity to catch up with Craig to discuss how service and relationships really always come back to people. You can listen to their conversation here: Family Values with Professional Excellence

Be sure to catch the smile in Craig’s voice when he speaks about his two daughters and their invigorating spirit, as well as his background as a musician.

With a shared vision of taking care of homeowners, homes, and guests, we know that Craig and his teams are going to do a fantastic job! Now that’s really music to our ears. Welcome!

Welcoming Tampa, Charleston, and Central Oregon Coast

Casago: What was your background before deciding to get into the vacation rental industry?

Craig: I actually didn’t start my career in hospitality. For the first 10+ years I was in a very operationally intensive role, but at a company that was fantastic about taking care of its customers. In 2015 I made the leap into the vacation home short-term rental industry by first joining a company called Sonder. There I had the opportunity to support the leadership team and help grow the company. From there I stayed in the real-estate industry, including long-term rentals and vacation homes before Roofstock sought me out as someone who could move into vacation rentals.

Casago: Why did Roofstock decide to join forces with Casago?

Craig: Roofstock, which primarily did twelve-month longer term rentals, is really excited about supporting vacation rentals. As Casago started to look for operators to support their various markets and owners, particularly during the transition of bringing on Vacasa homes, we jumped right on! This is a natural extension of something we’ve done for many years and continue to grow doing.

Casago: How will the individual teams in Tampa, Charleston, and on the Central Oregon Coast ensure top-tier hospitality?

Craig: As part of Roofstock, each of our markets pairs national expertise with a deep local presence. Our teams are rooted in the distinct markets and understand the unique characters of each individual community. This is apparent in our teammates’ understanding and appreciation of the rugged beauty and welcoming communities along Central Oregon’s Coast, as well as the history, charm, and southern hospitality of Charleston in the Lowcountry. In Tampa, our teammates share a love of being able to explore the area’s serene beaches, just minutes from a lively city rich with restaurants, art, and diverse neighborhoods.

We’re passionate about creating memorable guest experiences that highlight what makes each region special, while providing owners with trusted, hands-on care. By combining Roofstock’s scale with true local knowledge, we deliver both exceptional stays and lasting partnerships.

We are thrilled to welcome Craig and his teams to Tampa, Charleston, and the Central Oregon Coast!
