Welcome to

Tillamook

Where Oregon’s Coast Range meets the Pacific, Tillamook spreads across a broad valley of dairy farms, rivers, and tidal wetlands. Stretching from the Tillamook State Forest to the shoreline hugging Tillamook Bay, and on to the rugged Oregon Coastline, this Pacific Northwest landscape is full of adventure, history, and beauty.

Located about 75 miles west of Portland, Tillamook is a popular destination to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Renowned for its agriculture and dairy industry, just the name Tillamook easily conjures up visions of sharp cheddar and luscious ice-cream. Tours at the Tillamook Creamery are certainly one of the most popular attractions in town!

In addition to its fromage fame, Tillamook is home to the second-largest bay in Oregon, which local folklore interprets as a land of many waters. Together with a system of five rivers feeding into it, the bay and its surroundings offer more than 800 miles of navigable waters for paddling, kayaking, and fishing. The dramatic coast, spanning roughly 80 miles, provides for popular seaside pastimes that include crabbing, clamming at low tide, or watching for whales from a coastal overlook.

Visitors come to fish for salmon, go crabbing, paddle the bay's water trails, and hike to coastal viewpoints like Cape Lookout. Rainy days have plenty to offer too, from the Tillamook Air Museum to the Tillamook County Pioneer Museum. Enjoy a scenic road trip during a Tillamook vacation getaway by heading out on the Three Capes Scenic Loop, which takes you to Cape Meares, Cape Kiwanda, and Cape Lookout.

As food here starts on the farm and in the bay, ocean and farm-to-table are front and center in Tillamook. Sample cheddar and grab a scoop of ice cream at the Tillamook Creamery, then order fresh oysters at Jandy Oyster Company. Old Oregon Smokehouse serves smoked salmon and fish and chips. Blue Heron French Cheese Company adds brie and local wines.

Bring a rain jacket and an appetite, and start planning your Tillamook getaway on Oregon's North Coast with VueStay Vacations by Casago.
