About

The Mirador area stretches about 1.5 miles along the Sea of Cortez, with Blvd. Freemont running parallel on the north side. For years, it’s been one of Rocky Point’s favorite beach spots thanks to its classic beach bars, convenient location, and lively yet laid-back vibe.

What’s Near Playa Mirador?

This is the place to find some of Rocky Point’s original and most popular beach bars, including:

  • Manny’s Beach Club
  • Baja Cantina
  • Pitaya
  • Pink Cadillac

These spots are favorites with spring breakers and locals alike. You can sit right on the sand, enjoy great music, and grab food and drinks. Fun extras include bingo a couple of days a week at Manny’s and Pitaya, pool tournaments and cards at Jill’s, darts at the Pink Cadillac, and even yoga classes twice a week at Manny’s.

The beach here is lined with condos, plus two RV parks. Many Americans call the Mirador area home, living in apartments, houses, Playa del Oro, and the nearby condos.

What’s the Beach Like?

Mirador Beach has a rockier shoreline compared to the softer sands farther south in Las Conchas, but it’s excellent for snorkeling. If you have a small fishing boat, you can launch it from Playa del Oro.

What makes this beach so popular is its super convenient, walkable location close to downtown. It’s easy to spend the day at the beach and then stroll to bars, restaurants, or shops.

Also Nearby Playa Mirador

You’ll also find:

  • Capone’s Pizza
  • The American Legion post
  • Reggie’s 8/12 convenience store — stocked with lots of American products, fresh daily doughnuts, and three kinds of breakfast burritos

There are four hotels in the area. One sits right on the beach next to Playa del Oro RV park, Baja Cantina has its own hotel, another is next door to it, and the fourth is near Capone’s.

New to the area: The Cove at Whale Hill, an adults-only luxury boutique hotel on Calle Plan de Ayutta and Baja California #92. It’s not directly on the beach but offers a tranquil poolside experience with drinks and snacks — perfect if you’re looking for a peaceful getaway.

Local Tips

  • The beach is rockier than others in Rocky Point, but it’s one of the best spots for snorkeling.

If you’re looking for a mix of beach time, good music, cold drinks, and easy access to everything, Mirador is a classic Rocky Point choice!
