The town of Oakhurst is about seven miles away, offering shops, restaurants, bars, a cinema, and a live stage theater of its own. The Chukchansi Casino in Coarsegold is 12 miles away and the southern entrance of Yosemite National Park is only 15 miles away. Bass Lake reaches its peak water levels in the summer months and is lowered by 50 percent during the fall and winter months annually.
