Overview
Nestled under tall pines, this three-bedroom home sits off the road to offer guests a private getaway. Wood plank ceilings highlight the open main room with the kitchen, living, and dining areas. The bright remodeled kitchen features large stone countertops. The dining table can seat nine, and there are three additional seats at the kitchen counter. Outside there is a large patio and backyard with tables and chairs and a gas grill. The garage has been converted to a bonus game room, with a second television and a Ping-Pong table, and a mini split for comfort. The town of Oakhurst is 15 miles from the southern entrance of Yosemite National Park. Oakhurst provides shopping, restaurants, bars, a movie cinema, and a live stage theater. The home is also a short drive from beautiful Bass Lake, where you can enjoy boating, skiing, fishing, swimming, hiking, and bicycling. The Pines Village at the lake provides restaurants, a general market, bars, shops, and a full-service marina with rental boats, jet skis, and kayaks. Things to know: This home is equipped with surveillance cameras of the entry door. This camera points out from the front door and monitors the front area of the home. Bass Lake is less than 15 miles from the southern entrance of Yosemite National Park. Bass Lake reaches its peak water levels in the summer months and is lowered by 50 percent during the fall and winter months annually. Because of this summer water levels vary each year depending on the winter season rain and snowfall.

We have visited Oakhurst many times and have always searched for the right property at the right price. We finally found it! What a beautiful home. It is tastefully decorated, comfortable, and perfectly positioned. You truly feel as though you are staying in a cozy cabin in the woods, yet everything you need is only a few minutes away. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were genuinely sad when it was time to leave. From the back porch, you can watch deer, turkeys, birds, squirrels, and other wildlife throughout the day. The kitchen is well stocked with everything needed to prepare meals, and we ate in most of the time since several grocery options are located nearby. I noticed a few reviews mentioning the “yard,” but honestly, you are staying in the woods. What yard would you expect? The natural setting is part of what makes this property so special. This is a fantastic home, and we truly appreciated the privilege of borrowing it, even if only for a week. See you next year!
House was perfect for our stay with a great location for access to Yosemite and town for necessities. Could use some maintenance, especially the yard but we weren’t really there except to sleep, shower and eat. Kitchen and dining were perfect, bedrooms comfortable and bathrooms adequate for our needs. At this price point it could use some minor tweaks but for families looking to enjoy the park it works great.
The home is beautiful. The yard needs to be taken care of and we were unable to use the BBQ.
We loved this house. Great space with an excellent air conditioner and a fun ping pong table!
We loved the space, the two king beds, the open floor plan, and the game room. We took the house to be near Yosemite National Park (we were half an hour from the entrance), but what we didn’t realize was that we were an hour and 15 minutes to Tunnel View with its spectacular view of El Capitan and surrounding sights; then it was another 15 minutes to Curry Village and trail access. Just be aware that if you have little ones they will be in car seats for a while. Mariposa Grove with its giant sequoias is very near the entrance, however, and a gentle hike for little ones. This is a great option for access to Yosemite without having to pay the inflated prices to stay in the park.
We really enjoyed our stay—the house itself is comfortable, clean, and very well maintained. Everything indoors met our expectations and made for a great experience. The only downside was the outdoor space: both the front and back yards could use some attention, as they are quite overgrown and lack places to relax, such as lounge chairs or areas to lie down (there’s only a swing for kids). With a bit of improvement outside, this would be an excellent stay all around.
