Bedroom 1 features a king bed plus a twin bed tucked into built-in wood shelving, making it a natural fit for parents traveling with a little one. Wood-paneled walls, a brick accent, built-in bookshelves, and two windows looking into the trees give this spacious room real cabin character. Bedroom 2 offers a queen bed and a cozy retreat for a couple or a pair of adventurers, with windows that open onto the surrounding pines. Bedroom 3 features a king bed, ideal for a second couple who want their own quiet space after a day on the trails. Throughout the bedrooms you will find Yosemite touches like framed Ansel Adams prints, a mountain tapestry, an exposed wood-beam ceiling, knotty pine doors, a walk-in closet, and windows that fill with forest light. Bathrooms Two full bathrooms keep mornings moving. The primary bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom, and a second bathroom serves the upper level. Rustic barnwood walls and ceilings give one bath a true mountain lodge feel, with a long vanity, large mirror, natural light from the window, and a tub and shower combo for soaking tired legs after a long hike. Another bath pairs wood-paneled walls with a vanity and bulb-lit mirror. Living Areas The open living room is where everyone lands. Sink into the large sectional with your feet up on a tiled coffee table, claim the leather armchair and ottoman, or pull close to the wood stove on a chilly evening. Beamed wood ceilings and knotty pine paneling glow in the lamplight, tall windows face the trees, and a flat-screen TV is ready for movie night. A sliding door leads straight out to the deck. Kitchen & Dining The kitchen flows right into the living space, so the cook never misses the conversation. White cabinetry, granite countertops, a cooktop island under a black range hood, and a wall oven make easy work of family dinners, while two stools at the granite peninsula invite early risers to linger over coffee. A large window over the sink frames tall pines as you rinse dishes, and the dishwasher handles the rest. You will also find a microwave, coffee maker, blender, toaster, baking sheet, and wine glasses. An oval wooden table with six spindle-back chairs sits under a chandelier near the wood stove for hearty meals together. Deck Slide open the glass door and step into the treetops. The sunny wooden deck holds a round table with six chairs, surrounded by tall pines and open blue sky, with a BBQ grill for burgers after a day in the park. It is the spot for morning coffee and evening gatherings with distant mountain ridges visible through the trees. Patio furniture and the BBQ are stored away for the season from October to April. Loved being inside the park very near the start of the drive to Yosemite Valley, Tuolumne and Glacier Point. Very peaceful area with beautiful view. The home was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again if we return to Yosemite.
Terrific location, and fantastic meals on the back deck!
It was a nice respite away from the crowds of Yosemite. Since it's still in the park you also avoid any early morning lines, but you still have to plan for a 45 min drive each way every day. Def plan to bring your own food and cook. Your only other option is whatever is available in the Yosemite Village. The beds could use some updating, and since there's no AC more fans would be nice to cool things down more quickly for everyone. It wasn't bad overnight with the windows open but it definitely took it awhile before it got comfortable.
All amenities are outdated. If you planning to stay in summer month please note there is no AC. The house was very hot during our stay and we had to leave a day early
This home is just outside the park, which helps you get a jump on the crowds. It has no air conditioning, but summer nights typically are cool enough to sleep with the windows open.
Great views from home and at least a 35 to 45 minutes ride to Valley
