Peaceful Bear Lake Home

The view of the lake was nice from the deck and hot tub. Good location close to Beaver Mountain. The house is spacious and comfortable and great to hang out in after skiing.

We visit Bear Lake each summer and always choose a cabin with a view. This one certainly didn’t disappoint in that area! Sadly, the rest of the house was just okay. The AC system keeps the basement freezing, the main floor suitable but tending warm and the top floor much too warm. Many of the closets had portable AC units, but there was no information on how to use or where to place for best result (or if they worked!) The linens and beds were comfortable. Many of the images you see in the listing do not reflect the true furniture of the home. For example, the kitchen table has just 4 chairs and the varnish on the top has been cleaned with something that is eating the varnish, leaving it tacky even when clean. The BBQ was disgusting and nearing fire hazard status with all the grease buildup. The couch cushions and pillows were dirty, and the bed downstairs had pet hair around it. To my knowledge, this is a pet-free home. Many doorknobs could stand to be tightened, and it the entire house could use a floor to ceiling scrub. While Vacasa did what they could to make it right by refunding our cleaning fee, the home was very dirty when we arrived. Food and crumbs on the floor, dirty rugs, bedding in piles unfolded in closets…unsure if there were clean or dirty. A used swimsuit hanging in one area and each kitchen drawer was found in disarray and contained crumbs. Very disappointing for a home rental service. Thankfully, we had the lake to visit and raspberry shakes to consume so our stay wasn’t too impacted, just very unfortunate.

We loved this home. The ping pong tourney’s were amazing, the hot tub relaxing and the views to die for. We definitely want to come back again!

It was a sketchy and very bumpy ride from the main road to the rental. Trash had to be taken to a dumpster at the bottom of the subdivision daily along the rough dirt road. 90% of the town was shutdown for the season. It was impossible to figure out which of the nine remotes in the front room shut the blinds or turned on the TV because they weren't labeled. Additionally, only one remote in the entire place had working batteries. Everyone started to feel ill and had headaches, opened windows to air place out. I could go on. The beautiful view was overshadowed by everything that was wrong with the place.

I loved the size of the house and the balcony view was amazing especially in the evening. Hot tub was a perfect end to the night.
