Bay Reserve - Bayfront, Private Heated Pool

While the housing is not private the feel is quite and private. It's relaxing and a ton of wildlife.

We had a great stay at Bay Reserve! Loved the pool, even though it's on the small side, as well as the view of the bay and all the beautiful sea birds. The house itself was very comfortable and we would not hesitate to stay here again!

What a wonderful vacation! This home is the perfect spot for a restful getaway. The view is exceptional ... overlooking the bay, with the wetlands in the foreground for great wildlife viewing of birds & fish! It was very special to explore the "boardwalk" behind the home - a unique way to experience the community and be close to the water. The pool provided a welcomed refreshment, right in our own backyard! The home is clean and well-maintained, with comfortable furnishings & decor. Situated in an ideal location, next to Goose Island State Park and about a half-hour drive to Aransas National Wildlife Refuge, with the amenities of charming Rockport just 15 minutes away. We hope to return soon!

We loved the views from the back porch looking out over the marshes and St. Charles Bay! Very relaxing. Beautiful private wading pool out back. Very safe and upscale neighborhood. Loved it! However... The internet was sketchy the first day we got there but we were able to sign in and use it, although it was slow. After that the internet could not be accessed and we got an incorrect password notification, although we used the one provided and had been able to get on it the first day. So, no access to streaming services on the TV's and no cable or satellite programs. Also, the kitchen was not stocked at all. One small disposable shaker of salt and one of pepper. That's it. No pantry for food storage was available and there were no plastic dishes or glasses to use outdoors on the patio. Dropped and shattered a coffee cup. Pretty poorly supplied for a million dollar home and with no local contact it was hard to get any answers to our satisfaction. This home is listed on Realtor.com for sale which may explain why the home was sparsely stocked. No table out on the back porch where we spent most of our time and no lounge chairs, just an outdoor sofa and chair and a heavy fire pit table with sharp edges where our daughter caught her thigh against for a nasty bruise. Needs some TLC!

Very disappointed with Vacasa. We have rented this house a number of times over the years, going back to before Vacasa got an exclusive on rentals in The Reserve at St Charles Bay. After our stay in November 2025, I wrote a detailed review with a list of items that needed attention. The review was posted on Vacasa's website and included a response from Vacasa about my suggestions stating that action would be taken on correcting all items. Of the 10 points I covered in the review only three or four were actually addressed. The rest ignored. I would not have rented this house again had I known that the issues would be ignored. Among my biggest concerns/complaints was the condition of the cookware and cooking utensils. They are in terrible condition and need replacement. Very unappetizing to cook with them. I spoke with someone locally about that issue and she became very defensive and assured me that the cookware was in excellent condition. Insulting, to say the least. Goodwill would not accept the items I mention. To someone's credit, the gas grill was thrown out and replaced with a gas griddle. The toaster was replaced, and the dining placemats were thrown out, but not replaced ... we had to use paper towels for placemats (again). There were coat hangers this time, but were the ones that I bought in November and left there. Stoppers/plungers were not installed in guest bath, hand towel holders still loose. Garbage bins still dirty and needed to be empty. No instructions on when garbage is collected. I would have place them by the street. On top of the issues from November, here are a few more: 1. Bird droppings on couch on patio. Doesn't make you want to sit there! There is a nest above the couch and plenty of evidence that no one has addressed this in a while. 2. No serving dishes or serving platters in kitchen. 3. No salad bowl. 4. Dining room chairs need attention. Leg on one is separating from the frame and an accident waiting to happen. Rest of them wobble. 5. Cushions on dining chairs need cleaning. I realize that I have a critical eye and attention to service details. These were earned by serving as a hotel industry executive for 40 years. None of the items that I mention are exaggerated or over stated. I tried to be as accurate and direct as needed.
