Waterfront Delight at Spindle Point

This house was perfect for my family of 4! Going to try and boom again in the future! Can’t beat the location.

The location and house were amazing. The back porch was lovely. Dock was well maintained and we had a great time using the kayaks in the morning. Only word of caution is the beds. There are 2 bedrooms as it says with queen beds. The loft bunk bed is really a trundle in a hall landing between one of the bedrooms and a bathroom out in it all. So really tough to have someone sleep there. It did not work for our kids as we were hoping since it was not a bunk bed and any light or noise from downstairs or the one bedroom was right there. Still would have booked it but might have rethought the sleeping expectations. Just want to make others aware.

Our family had an unforgettable week at Grandma’s Cabin, a charming family retreat steeped in history and perfect for creating lasting memories. The shared family space was warm and inviting, adorned with photos of generations of kids and adults who have made cherished memories in this special place. I found myself wishing we had a similar spot to continue our own family traditions. The serene ambiance was broken only by the occasional cry of an osprey or bald eagle, which I spotted from the porch while sipping my morning coffee. The weather was perfect, and the crystal-clear water was breathtaking. My 15-year-old daughter caught her first fish—a 4-pound smallmouth bass—right off the dock, a moment we’ll never forget. We enjoyed stunning sunsets and rented a boat from Goodhue Marine, as we often do during our summer visits, since we’re just an hour from Meredith, where my wife and I were married 16 years ago. Celebrating our anniversary in this beautiful place felt truly special. My wife, an English teacher, was thrilled with the cabin’s impressive book collection. Everything was exactly as described—immaculate, peaceful, and surrounded by quiet, respectful neighbors. Of all our lakeside summer vacations, my daughter declared this her favorite. We were so delighted that I tried to book it again for next year, but no dates were available—a testament to how exceptional this place is. Thank you to the owners for sharing this wonderful home. We had an excellent time at this property. The house was clean and well stocked upon our arrival. The kitchen is well appointed and has everything you need. The views of the lake and sunsets from the screened in porch are amazing. The neighborhood is quiet and very walkable.

Considering that the 3rd week of August felt more like the first week of October -- cold and raining all but one day -- we were so pleased with the comfort of staying in the house (we even had to turn on the heat!) When the wind wasn't roaring against the windows of the enclosed porch, it was delightful sitting out there just looking at the lake. All amenities are provided, superb wifi, and we got to relearn how to use a charcoal grill. Really a delightful spot in a posh neighborhood!
