The Cabin on Squam Lake

This house was super clean and had all you need, especially the kitchen. The description is not complete leaving many questions but we were pleasantly surprised. We were super happy to see there is now an AC in each bedroom! There was also plenty of seating on the huge screened porch where we spent most of our time. Only reason for 4 stars was due to the swimmng off the dock. It’s about 3-4 mucky and weedy. There is a fantastic kayak launch area next to the dock that is rocky and somewhat sandy to put in. We had a boat and a huge float so we’d pull it out and swim which was wonderful. The house also is very shrouded by trees with no great outdoor areas sit and sun other than the dock, which was a really nice at 40’. Great fishing. Caught lots of good sized smallies. There’s also a HUGE pickerel that lives under the dock. Found out by dangling a small lure to attract little fish and this monster came out of nowhere and took the bait with him. Overall our family had a wonderful time.

The setting is perfect. The house is very spacious and we were impressed with how clean everything was. It was a very relaxing vacation!

The cabin was in a quiet cove on the lake. It was only a 10 minute drive to Meredith and our favorite places to eat. The Cabin was clean with fresh towels and linens on the beds. It would be nice to have a swim raft away from the shore and some sand where you get in there were lots of weeds.

It was a quiet area. We loved the screened porch and sitting out on the dock. Dog Cove was easy to kayak. The water is not as rough as the main part of Squam.

During the week, Dog Cove is very quiet and we loved the tree-filled property, especially the views from the screened porch. If you’re looking for a simple summer getaway on Squam, this is perfect.
