What our guests are saying...

Sunrise Beach House is described as a perfect getaway with a cozy, charming feel and a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere that guests found hard to leave. Guests appreciated the clean, cute interior, comfortable spaces, and thoughtful touches like a well-stocked kitchen, inviting sitting areas, and a jetted tub for unwinding. Its waterfront setting stood out as a highlight, with direct beach access, a spacious deck, and a private, secluded feel that encouraged guests to slow down and enjoy the surroundings. The views from Sunrise Beach House were repeatedly praised as breathtaking and unforgettable, with clear sights of the water, nearby islands, and the mountain, along with memorable sunrises and sunsets. Guests also loved watching abundant marine life and birds from the home and deck, which made the stay feel especially unique. The property’s quaint character, rustic charm, and detached bunkhouse option added to its appeal as a distinctive coastal retreat.

Overview

The home is located on the south end of Colvos Passage, just an easy five-minute drive from Gig Harbor’s downtown and marina. Gig Harbor is a perfectly charming town with several parks and a historic waterfront that includes boutiques, coffee shops, dining, and a marina. This 1925 beach house has all the charm of a cabin with the comforts of home. Step right out the front door onto the huge deck equipped with chairs, benches, and a barbecue. Relax with a cocktail or book, watch maritime traffic, or keep a lookout for seals, birds, otters, sea lions, and even whales. The stairs from the deck lead directly to the sand and the small rock beach below. At high tide, the water meets the bulkhead below the deck and you feel like you are on a houseboat. At low tide, you are able to walk the beach to collect shells and rocks. The house is within walking distance from Sunrise Beach Park, which is said to be one of the best shore dives in Puget Sound. The main feature of this site is a 25-foot high rock wall that runs parallel to the shoreline. The top of the wall starts at about 35 fsw with the base at about 60 fsw. The wall is full of cracks, crevices, fissures, and holes which are hiding places for a plethora of curious critters. There is an open living room, dining area, and kitchen which makes it feel spacious and comfortable. One bedroom with a queen bed is in the main house. There is also a queen-size sleeper sofa in the living room that is easy to assemble. Things to Know High-speed WiFi for remote workers and online students! Full kitchen (no dishwasher) Please note that this home requires a short walk from the parking area. The secluded Sunrise Beach neighborhood, which consists of about 20 waterfront homes, was originally only reached by boat/ferry. Today there is a road and path that brings you to the homes. To reach our house you park on the road above and walk on a waterfront pathway about the length of one city block. It is worth the walk! The bunkhouse does not have a bathroom and is not suitable for younger children to sleep without an adult. However, it is comfortable and safe for adults and older children.

The location was perfect for a quiet week away. The walk down and up are not particularly easy for elderly with mobility issues and the toilet could use a hand rail. It is cozy, serene, with stunning views, wildlife everywhere, no tv, and a large deck for plenty of room to truly step away from the outside world and unwind your mind.

We needed a last minute booking for one night close to some outdoor adventures, and this place was perfect. It's a little walk to get to the place from the road you park on, but it's worth it. Right on the water, you can literally walk into the water from the porch. Great views - and in the AM could watch a lot of sea life swim by. Close to neighbors, but they were super nice. Heads up, took us a minute to find the 2nd bedroom - it's a bunkhouse detached - but it's a very cool option if you don't want to stay in the main house (or for next time we'd bring more guests knowing this accommodation). Would definitely come back.

Quaint little home along the water with amazing views all day and while we were there we could see Mt. Rainier very clearly.....this is why you rent this place. While it has a second room option called the bunkhouse that is across the sidewalk, mostly would consider this queen bed with pullout sofa. We spent most of our time on the deck in Adirondack chairs or the nice outdoor sofa's with shade.

This property is ALL about the view from the deck and the extensive front picture windows. So if you are willing to accept an average accommodation at a pretty steep cost, the view will be worth it. We could see, faintly, Mt. Rainier on an overcast afternoon and marine layer morning. On a clear day, if you're so fortunate too experience, it will be a fabulous view for sure.

What a fun place to stay and have a relaxing weekend. We found plenty of amazing restaurants and park trails to walk. The view was spectacular. Highly recommend
