Cultural Cottage in Old Town Anacortes

While the cottage is convenient and steps from the commercial district of Anacortes, the home is lacking basic and standard amenities that are in rental properties around the world. No wifi, no tv, not even a clock radio to listen to music. The kitchen is well stocked, but again basics are missing. no ice trays, no sheet pans, no standard wine glasses. but they do have 2 instant pots and a slow cooker. The side courtyard is beautiful, but the plastic chairs are broken. We got a text from Vacasa letting us know how to access the wifi, and after several back and forths, they finally informed us that the home does not offer it all, so there is a disconnect between corporate and the local team. This is our second stay at this cottage and we will not be renting it again. For the cost, this home needs to offer more than just a convenient location.

Location was good and it was quiet

Issues: 1) NO INTERNET - you will get a text that even says there is internet - do not let that fool you... there is NO internet. In this day and age with so many ways to get internet (ISP (with/without mesh system from main house), Starlink, 5G cellular modem, etc), this is pretty much unacceptable. I don't want to use up all of my cellular data to make up for a lack of internet. 2) The couch and chairs in the living room are completely unusable. Everyone who sat in those for the 3 days we were there are now having back pain!! (no exaggeration) 3) No TV? Even if you don't have a premium service like cable or satellite, at least give us a display to cast our mobile devices streaming programs to or plug in a streaming stick to... Oh wait, there's no internet so... can't do that either unless you use all your cellular data on your phone. 4) No dining table/chairs inside (only island with bar stools) (side comment: there's a puzzle on a bookshelf but there's literally nowhere to DO the puzzle) 5) for those who can't stand cats - there's a cat that will come around and try to get you to pet it if you're outside at all Good points: 1) Location - you almost can't beat it if you want to walk places instead of drive. Quiet neighborhood too. 2) Kitchen is well-stocked for the most part. could use a few more normal-size spoons. 3) It was clean 4) Comfortable beds 5) for those who like cats - there's a cat that will come around and try to get you to pet it if you're outside at all For our group, the "issues" above outweighed the "good points" and we won't be back. We'd rather pay a little more for internet and comfortable places to sit/eat.

This is our second stay and enjoy the facilities and closeness to downtown.

Close to everything in Anacortes and a great hoping off place for Deception Pass and the San Juan Islands. Nicely furnished. Quiet and comfortable.
