Whether you're planning to hike, kayak, or fish, you'll find the perfect place to end each afternoon on the open, tree-lined deck. This stunning spot overlooking the lake is ideal for morning coffee with a view, afternoon barbecues on the gas grill, and evening soaks in the private hot tub. A firepit just off the deck provides a cozy spot for s'mores and stories at night. The house is full of Pacific Northwest charm, offering wood-paneled walls and ceilings, windows that frame the lake, and a pellet stove to curl up to in the evenings. The upper, main level includes a sitting area with a TV and DVD player, an open kitchen with every essential, and two bistro dining tables to choose from. Overall, a great spot by Lake Sutherland. Home was clean and accessible. Some small improvements could really make this place great but if you are looking for a cozy family cabin by the lake, this place is perfect. Would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to be close to Olympic National Park.
We enjoyed our week at this cabin on lake Sutherland. Highlights are the deck, hot tub, pellet stove, dock, and Kayaks. The cabin has a few rough edges to it, but overall it was delightful.
The pine walls and ceiling are lovely. The tile floors in the kitchen, dining and family rooms are nice.
Upon arrival, we immediately noticed the cabin has breathtaking views of the lake from both top and bottom decks. The lake is probably one of the best we've seen, Lake Crescent is close by, but Lake Sutherland is smaller and more intimate. There's a long steep switchback path down to the dock, with steel pipes sticking out of the ground so be careful. My wife was able to navigate it with use of a walking stick. Was able to get in a nice 20 mile bike ride to Crescent Lake and back. My son also caught his first Rainbow Trout off the dock, then caught two more ... :) Two kayaks are available for use, but we opted to fish off the dock the whole time we were there. Would have been nice if they offered the 15-20' Bayliner stored on the dock as a rental option! The cabin is very clean and spacious, and the hot tub is well-maintained. There is good WiFi signal throughout the property. We’ve stayed at a number of other Vacasa managed properties, but this one needs a more TLC. To be fair, they’ve addressed previous feedback: added a few more chairs to the deck, added more folding chairs for the fire pit and the dock, the pots and pans are ok, dinnerware and silverware, plenty of towels, and most of the outlets work. The deck chairs need a good power wash though. It rained two of the three days we stayed, so not having a smart tv to access our favorite streaming channels was a bummer. The dishwasher has not worked in over a year despite multiple customer complaints, no welcome book with all the details about the house to include WiFi, tv instructions, no dishwasher, no laundry access etc. The view is the only thing worth the premium price we paid for our stay. Do better ...we may return for the lake and the views but only if they do a few upgrades to the property ...or rented out the Bayliner.
Property was clean, but really needs some updates
The inside of the house is fine if you’re okay with a more rustic stay. The doc and lake are amazing! The kayaks are in great shape and are a nice bonus to have access to. The cabin was lacking basic amenities for the price point and the outside areas were junky and run down. The description of the steep hillside is slightly inaccurate, there are rusty pipes sticking out along the route that are tripping hazards for young kids.
