At the end of the road. No through traffic.
Fantastic property on a fantastic lake. I would highly recommend this site.
We stayed there for a couple of weeks in November. The lake was stunning and the house provides views in pretty much every room. It was very peaceful and quiet and we got to enjoy otters swimming by, as well as the Northern Lights! The beds are really comfortable, and the kitchen was clean and well stocked. The fireplace was really nice and we had no problems with the WiFi or our phones. Make sure that you follow the specific directions they provide you to the house, otherwise it’s a little confusing to get there, especially if it’s dark. The living room furniture could use an upgrade. As others have noted, the blinds need to be fixed in the bedroom. Also, it would be nice if the heat was on upon arrival, the house was chilly when we got there and took a while to heat up. The house is huge and can certainly fit way more than six people comfortably (it has seven beds!). You are only allowed to have two cars, which caused us some problems because there isn’t anywhere close by to park an extra car…though there is plenty of room to park three cars at the house. Overall, the house was incredible and we would love to experience it in all four seasons.
The place was just as pictured. The views were beautiful. Unfortunately we went during a time where there was a wildfire in the area but Vacasa was very prompt on letting us know about the situation and that we were not in an evacuation zone. That being said there is no central ac but when we were able to open the windows the house cooled down just fine. Everything else in the property was great. Well stocked kitchen, beautiful views, and very clean. Would stay here again. It was the perfect stay off the beaten path to explore Olympic National Park during the day.
I loved the views, the lake, the availability of paddle boat and kayak. There is not AC in house and a stay in late August is a little uncomfortable without fans. It was windy, so we had to close the blinds at night due to banging incessantly on the windows so it was quite stuffy/not good sleeping. Be aware they have cooking utensils but very limited cooking basics - i.e. salt, spices, oil, etc.
This was a FANTASIC place to stay during our trip from the East Coast. The view is even better than shown in the photos and is simply amazing. The linens were very nice and comfortable, and the house was very clean. The interior of the house is exactly as shown in the photos. The wood columns and floors inside the house are really lovely. I saw one reviewer say that the house was not homey--I disagree. I thought the warm tones of the interior were very homey and inviting. As stated above, it is exactly as shown in the photos. I also saw in the last review that the BBQ grill was not in good shape--not sure if it was replaced but the grill that we used there was perfectly good. There is an outdoor table to use which worked well for outdoor dining and we rarely ate indoors in the evenings. There is a walkway down to the lake where there were 2 kayaks, a paddle board, lifejackets, rowboat size boat etc. There are stone steps down into the lake from the lakefront deck so you don't have to use the ladder on the pier if you don't want to. There is one of those super large umbrellas on the deck at the lakefront which was very easy to operate and which was used every day that was sunny. The water is clear so you can see the bottom of the lake, at least in the water from the shore to the pier. It was also clean water so we didn't feel dirty when leaving the water or that a film had appeared on our skin (this happens where we live unfortunately). The grocery store is in Hoodsport which is a good drive away from the house. I suggest that you stop at the grocery store on your way in on day 1 and gather all your kitchen staples. We arrived late on day 1 and could not do this but it would have been great if we had been able to do so. To the Owners: if you ever want to sell the house, please let me know. We loved it there--thank you for opening your home up to us. We will be back next summer.
