Clean, welcoming, and all you need for a great time.
They provide everything you need or ask for. The most thoughtful place we’ve ever stayed. Everything is provided for… coffee, tea, dry cooking supplies, pots, pans, coffee pot, tea brewer, silverware , plates, bowls, you name it. Beach towels, kayaks, peddle boat and a floating dock on the beautiful lake. Two wonderful bedrooms (with TV), TV in main room. Dining table, eat at bar with stools. Outside you can turn on festive lights hung in the trees. Plenty of parking, and a huge lot with a nice metal rimmed fire pit…with plenty of wood. I would stay their again, even with some if the limitations I have.
We really enjoyed our time. The kitchen is very well stocked with pretty much all someone might need. We loved making awesome food and eating out on the deck We also appreciated all the water toys available - kayaks, paddle board, peddle boat, etc. Great time!
Great stay, great place for family vacation.
My friend and I stayed here for a couple of nights and found the Rustic Root Lodge to be a very reasonably priced cabin that could use some tweaks to make the experience better. The inside space is well-equipped and was clean. The outside space could use some more upkeep in various areas. Also, while the water is very comfortable and clean for swimming, the “beach” area is messy, run down and too sloped that it is a bit treacherous. I would not recommend this for kids under about 10 bc they will inevitably slip down the slope and scrape up their hands and legs. The setting is spectacular, and the fire pit dialed in, so that makes up for some of the shortfalls. But some outside upkeep and beach restoration would go a long way to make it more stars.
My wife and I had an incredible time, and it was such a nice reprieve from our busy, hectic world. The lake was super clear and wonderfully warm. Such a great lake to swim in! The kayaks, paddle board, and paddle boat were very fun and relaxing. Beautiful view from the deck, and just so peaceful and quiet. We will definitely be making this our yearly spot! Great dirt bike riding in the area too, so bring them with like we did (not recommended with a larger trailer unless you are skilled at backing them up in narrow areas. The smaller enclosed trailer we had was no issue to maneuver, unhook to go explore for the day, back up, etc.).
