Clean, welcoming, and all you need for a great time.
Great stay, great place for family vacation.
My friend and I stayed here for a couple of nights and found the Rustic Root Lodge to be a very reasonably priced cabin that could use some tweaks to make the experience better. The inside space is well-equipped and was clean. The outside space could use some more upkeep in various areas. Also, while the water is very comfortable and clean for swimming, the “beach” area is messy, run down and too sloped that it is a bit treacherous. I would not recommend this for kids under about 10 bc they will inevitably slip down the slope and scrape up their hands and legs. The setting is spectacular, and the fire pit dialed in, so that makes up for some of the shortfalls. But some outside upkeep and beach restoration would go a long way to make it more stars.
My wife and I had an incredible time, and it was such a nice reprieve from our busy, hectic world. The lake was super clear and wonderfully warm. Such a great lake to swim in! The kayaks, paddle board, and paddle boat were very fun and relaxing. Beautiful view from the deck, and just so peaceful and quiet. We will definitely be making this our yearly spot! Great dirt bike riding in the area too, so bring them with like we did (not recommended with a larger trailer unless you are skilled at backing them up in narrow areas. The smaller enclosed trailer we had was no issue to maneuver, unhook to go explore for the day, back up, etc.).
A peaceful cabin with a beautiful view of the lake.
My family of 4 (myself, husband, son (12) and dog) stayed here during spring break and had a fun and relaxing family getaway. It was rainy while we were there, but the house was equipped with everything plus all of the items we brought to keep us busy inside. You cannot beat the view!
