The setting has real appeal. The property is beautifully wooded, the pond was a highlight for the kids and great for exploring, and there was plenty of convenient parking. We spotted loads of birds and the trees were stunning. Worth noting it isn't quite as secluded as advertised since you can hear the highway, but the natural surroundings are still lovely. The kitchen was clean and modern, well-stocked with supplies, though missing pantry basics like cooking oil. The beds were very comfortable and the linens were clean and presented beautifully. Arrival was a rough start. The door code provided only worked for one lock. A second lock had no code sent to us, and it took over 30 minutes and a support call to get inside. It felt like our booking had caught someone off guard. The house was freezing with no heating left on, and it took some trial and error to figure out which thermostats controlled which zones. One shower had no hot water, though the others were fine. The deal-breaker was the smell. A strong musty chemical odour, possibly moth balls, filled the entire house. Opening windows helped only marginally, and one guest had a persistent headache throughout the stay. At this price point, that is simply not acceptable. The owners should address the smell, confirm all access codes ahead of check-in, and ensure heating is on for arriving guests. Genuine potential here, but I can't recommend it until those issues are resolved.
The 2 bedrooms are at opposite sides of the house, separated by an open space including the kitchen, dining room and living room. This made the house more private.
Clean, comfortable and quiet. Lovely visit.
The setting was quite serene and served our needs perfectly as we travelled to visit family
This home was private, clean, well-stocked, and comfortable. Heads-up: Apple Maps provide better directions than Google. It was hard for us to figure it out the exact location in the dark -- there are three driveways right next to each other down a very remote road and this driveway was in the middle. The turn onto the side road is shortly after the freeway exit -- it was hard to see in the dark with a lot of traffic (and road construction in Dec. 2024), and if you miss it, you can't turn around until you are a few miles up the mountain. So pay attention and don't rush! The layout of the home is great, with a very large and open living space and big windows looking out on the lake. Bedrooms were on either side of the living space, providing elbow-room and privacy. The home is nicely updated and was immaculate when we arrived. The kitchen is well-stocked with many pots and pans and sufficient dishes, glassware, and flatware. The couch is more comfortable than you might expect, based on the picture and other reviews. We found the beds very comfy. There were a couple of quirks, as there are for most places, but nothing that would stop us from coming back or discouraging others to stay here. We are glad we found this place and were able to enjoy a couple of quiet down days, while still being plenty near groceries and a couple of restaurants plus the outlet mall and many options to explore nature. Thank you!
We stayed for 2.5 weeks at the Lake’s Hidden Gem. We loved it! It is very spacious and our son, who we were visiting, was able to easily drive out from Seattle and spend the night in the 2nd bedroom. It is a gorgeous setting by the lake with beautiful trees right on the backyard. The house had everything we needed to cook family meals there. We also enjoyed the fireplace multiple nights despite having heating units in every room. I think the aesthetic beauty of the setting would be hard to match.
