Runaway to the Ridge

This issue is still ongoing, a week after my stay, and I've escalated this to a Vacasa supervisor. We arrived at the unit at 6:06pm on Friday 5/23. Over the course of the first 23 hours, we continuously found more and more issues around the unit - including but not limited to a non-functional Carbon monoxide/fire detector, a broken (dangerous) fireplace door, exposed staples on the bottom of the top bunk bed, dead batteries in almost every electronic device, burned out lights, heavy dust throughout, and more. It was abundantly clear that this unit is not maintained at all, by the owner, the maintenance crew, or the property manager. At 4:59pm on 5/24, I reported 13 issues to the Vacasa team and they promised to send someone that day to address them (less than 24 hours after our arrival at the unit). Not only did they not send someone, but they didn't inform me that no one was coming. Then, the next day, no one told me someone was coming, and when they did, they dropped a bag of batteries outside the front door and didn't enter the unit. Not a single issue was addressed during our stay. Over the duration of my stay, I exchanged 41 emails with the team, including comprehensive photos, which should have been taken and reported by the maintenance person that should have been sent to fix the issues. Vacasa claimed that I waited too long to report these issues - which is inaccurate and their expectation that I report them the moment we arrive is unreasonable. I provided photos for each of the issue and screenshots of the extensive test string, and they refunded a meager $50, an unacceptable fraction of the amount we paid for this stay. I've used Vacasa before and have not had any issues, nor have I ever requested any sort of refund. I stay in short term rentals all the time with VRBO and AirBnb, and have never experienced this level of issues. I booked this stay through VRBO and will be filing a complaint with them as well.

Good location, decent condo, bed situation and couch very uncomfortable. TV didn’t work (dead batteries in remote).

Great place for a quick getaway

The home does not provide adequate seating in the living room area. The home says 4 people. We are a 3 person family and it was just not suitable. This property has access to pool and hot tub. This was written in the home amenities. We love the pool in this neighborhood and one of the reasons we keep going back to this neighborhood. When we went to check into the pool, we provided the address where we were staying per process. They were not going to let us in because the owner is egregiously behind on HOA dues. It was a real disappointment to have to advocate fiercely to use an amenity that was on the home’s description. It is a place we do not recommend.

Would give this 0-stars if there was an option. Do not rent. This unit appears much better in photos. The unit is tired and is need of a deep carpet cleaning, new beds and new bedding. To be clear: this is not a house keeping issue, this is a property upkeep issue. The bed set up is challenging for adults. The “double bed” is under the bunk (feels claustrophobic!) and is way too small for 2 adults, even 2 small adults (both <135 lbs). One of us moved to the pullout couch and the other to the trundle bed. The trundle bed was uncomfortable and the pullout couch was unbearable with deep crevasses. A back breaker! We opened the couch and there were food remnants in the mattress, and the extra bedding and blankets were stained and had holes in them. It was gross. In addition to the horrible sleeping and bedding situation, the heating system comes on every 20 minutes and sounds like a jet engine. Neither of us slept and we packed up and left the next morning even though we had reserved for 4 days. We reached out to Vacasa to notify them of the issue and our early departure, and requested a refund but heard nothing back, even though the Vacasa bot promised us they had notified someone.
