The Lakefront Treehouse

Gorgeous bird's eye view of the lake and surrounding area. Cool and clean lake for great swimming and water sports. Wonderful amenities to make you feel at home. Met lots of friendly people as we took walks and paddled around the lake. Really sweet place for a relaxing week-long rest away from our busy and stressful lives.

I’m honestly torn on how to rate this stay. The location and amenities were absolutely phenomenal, but the cleanliness and an issue with the neighbors significantly impacted our experience. While the home itself is beautiful, it could use a more thorough cleaning. There were cobwebs throughout the house—in corners, on ceiling fans, and around light fixtures. The downstairs patio appeared to have not been cleaned in quite some time, with noticeable buildup of dirt and dust on the furniture. Both balcony railings were also covered in webs. Additionally, we encountered ants in the kitchen. The most disappointing part of our stay, however, was the repeated harassment from a neighboring property. We were approached and yelled at three separate times regarding a campfire by the lake. Each time, the neighbor insisted that fires were not allowed, becoming increasingly aggressive. During the final interaction, he stepped onto the property and demanded we put the fire out immediately, stating, “I am not asking you to put out the fire. I am telling you to put it out. NOW!” He also threatened to contact the owner to have us banned from future stays. He then proceeded to call the owner and had a conversation outside, loudly and within earshot, making it very clear that he was reporting us. This added to an already uncomfortable and tense situation. To ensure we were following the rules, I contacted Vacasa directly. They confirmed that fires were allowed, noting there was no burn ban in effect, nothing in the rental agreement prohibited it, and firewood had been provided. Based on this, we were well within our rights to have the fire. If fires are in fact discouraged during certain times of year, this should be clearly stated in the rental agreement and firewood should not be provided. This situation created unnecessary stress and ultimately took away from what should have been a relaxing stay. On a positive note, the neighbors two doors down were incredibly kind and welcoming. They reassured us that this behavior is unfortunately typical of the other neighbors and went out of their way to make our experience better, even taking my son out on their boat. Their kindness truly helped salvage an otherwise frustrating situation. Overall, this property has a lot of potential, but improvements in cleanliness and better management of neighbor interactions would make a significant difference.

This is our 3rd year coming to this lake house and we absolutely love it! It has everything you need and is very comfortable. Our kids love the games that the house has and the fact that we can all hang out at the dock and fish, swim or just hang out.

The views and water access are unbeatable. Whether you’re swimming down at the dock, kayaking the lake, or sipping you’re morning coffee on the deck, this home has it all.

I was specifically looking for a rental that was safe for children and also allowed me to catch some fish... this house went beyond that expectation... I left with 16 fish all over a pound and the kids enjoyed themselves... I am extremely appreciative to the host for sharing this beautiful home with my family.
