Big Hill Retreat at Suncadia Resort

Spacious, 5 bathrooms, bunk beds for lots of kids, TVs to hook up video games or watch movies, spacious kitchen was well equipped, games in the garage great for kids. The washing machine was a perk! The cleanliness could be improved. The location has no privacy with many people walking past.

I would not recommend this property or Vacasa as a management company. The home was not as advertised and fell far below basic cleanliness and comfort standards. Upon arrival, the house was dirty: dishes were left out on the counter, hair was all over the floor (we had to vacuum ourselves), and the carpet was badly stained and wrinkled—so much so that my daughter tripped multiple times on spots where it was raised inches off the ground. The toys were shoved messily into the dresser, making it look like children had done the “cleaning.” The listing required guests to start laundry and run the dishwasher at checkout, yet no detergent, trash bags, or dishwasher pods were provided. We had to make a last-minute run to Safeway for basic necessities. The kitchen itself showed heavy wear: the black enamel was flaking off the pans into our food, and overall it did not feel stocked or properly maintained. Several major maintenance issues also made the stay uncomfortable: the AC unit in the living room leaked so much condensation that it soaked into the carpet and created puddles. There were no blinds or window coverings, leaving the house without privacy. And the pool table—which was advertised as an amenity—was completely broken, with the legs detached and the table sitting on the floor, unusable. This is false advertising. I contacted Vacasa multiple times regarding these issues, including asking about basic cleaning supplies, and was told maintenance and even the owners would be reaching out. No one ever followed up by phone or email. It has been over a week and I’ve received zero communication. Overall, this property was not clean, not maintained, and not as advertised. Between the broken amenities, unsafe carpet, and lack of responsiveness from Vacasa, I would not stay here again and cannot recommend booking this rental.

We had a great stay at Big Hill Retreat. We had plenty of room for our family of 6, and we enjoyed getting out the door and walking quickly to playgrounds, rentals, and the main lodges.

Great home for families, close to the golf course, restaurants and spa. The home had everything we needed and was perfect for a weekend getaway.
