No-Bank Waterfront Stunner – Driftwood Compound on Fidalgo Island

The grounds were lovely and the space is beautiful with ample outdoor space and seating areas. We cannot express enough how disappointed we were to discover - after many assurances to the contrary - that there were NOT six beds. We are six adult friends and 2 of us had to share a bed because of this. They told us in no uncertain terms that there was a sixth bed - first they said it was a bedroom with a double bed, then they said it was a double bed, then they said it was a futon in the playroom but none of this was true.

You can't find such large ocean front house easily. The house is close to many interesting spots including deception Pass, shrimp shark, anacotes and island ferry if you like to do a day trip to San Juan Island House has everything. I appreciate two houses configure which gives me the opportunity to quite time. Highly recommended

This home covers all the bases and then some. It was a great family vacation experience - amenities, location, natural surroundings, and views - right down to the deer peering in the windows. The sauna was enjoyed far more than expected. Would love to come back again.

The home is a classic northwestern architectural icon. The entire property is second to none. The enormous yard sweeps down to the waterfront, and the compound features beautifully designed and maintained structures that give privacy and flexibility to a group looking for their own spaces and community areas to gather. The south-facing patio was delightfully warm the April days we spent there. It seems to be a somewhat protected area. Gorgeous, gorgeous views. Gorgeous! One of a kind waterfront. The sauna looks wonderful, although we did not take advantage of it. There is an outdoor shower at the sauna building. The guest house features two bedrooms and two baths with a lovely center “great room” with a good kitchen. The kitchen in the main house is very well stocked with cooking gear, alll appliances are high end, and lots of counter space and a smaller extra sink to accommodate several cooks. I could write for another day about this place! I cannot imagine how much fun it would be in the summer with kids. Pay attention to parking limitations, a large vehicle might be a challenge. The driveway is steep and narrow, although it is obviously well engineered and is paved with concrete. The three car maximum is correct. You could fit four cars there but you might not get back out. We had the great coincidence of staying there during tulip time in Skagit Valley, which was a wonderful experience as well. Anacortes is loaded with fabulous parks and restaurants. The entire area is a food destination.

The view and grounds of this home were absolutely beautiful. We spent a lot of time around the fire pit, baseball on the lawn, hanging out on the beach. The house was warm & beautiful & great for hanging out cooking & playing board games. Sauna was unreal. That said, the home & guest house together have 5 bedrooms, not 6 as listed. Beds etc could use an update.

This property was absolutely wonderful, exceeded our expectations! We rented both houses which was perfect for our family. Gorgeous view, beautiful outdoor spaces, amazing kitchen layout to cook for our large group. No road noise. Deception Pass State Park is about a 10 minute drive away. A couple of us swam from the beach out front. We loved this place!
