Saltwind Shores

View of ocean from living room and deck but you need to drive about five minutes to the beach. Good location for the southern part of national park.

The house is a great size for bigger groups. Close to beach access points. The hot tub was nice, the kids loved it. Partially fenced but worked okay for the pets. My family overall enjoyed our stay.

This house was exactly as advertised - it was dog friendly, the grill outside worked and had fuel (and a backup canister nearby), and the hot tub was clean and hot. It's an older house, and is appropriately quirky; a modern designer may scoff at the wood fireplace (we didn't use it, but it looked functional and was plugged in), or maybe turn up their nose at the baseboard heaters (which worked great as they were all hooked up to smart thermostats). Bumping elbows in the kitchen of an older home is something that was welcome to our family, but might not be for others. The (seemingly) original hardwood floors felt grounding up on the bluff and the furniture was adequate and cozy. The little notes around the house were welcoming instead of the dry copy/paste snippets you typically run across. Cleanup was all suggested as opposed to feeling enforced, and we didn't felt threatened by fees should we be in a hurry to make checkout time. The WiFi was fine I suppose - but with the surf, bald eagles and resplendent sunsets, I'd recommend leaving the phone stowed anyhow.
