This review is for the property management, homeowner and the property. Upon arrival there was a broken hide-a-bed, unsafe stairs to the hot tub, a broken back door screen and no extra blankets in the master closet. We had hoped to rest on vacation, not be bombarded by broken or missing things we expected and paid for to be in working condition. We called the number from our welcome text within an hour of our arrival and texted some picture messages. The vacasa rep said they would have the local team phone us. 24 hours later we still hadn’t heard from the local team so my husband called and was assured they would have the local team reach out to us. No one ever did. Donna the cleaning lady happened to come by to take the garbages out, thankfully because they were quite full and she said she new nothing of the concerns we had but mentioned they should have had her number because the local manager was out for a few days. She helped with the screen but it was broken for our trip. Later during our stay I called the number from the welcome text to ask for more toilet paper and garbage sacks and the lady said they only supply an initial amount. This was a ridiculous response. After 25 years of renting on the Oregon and Washington coasts and staying at numerous hotels, no one has ever said, sorry that’s all you get. The house had some cool features like the master deck, hot and cold spigots outside, sturdy stairs, nice windows and drapery, but a stay without genuine guest services makes it very isolating and uncomfortable. We entrusted Vacasa to provide a safe, comfortable shelter with guest service representatives that care, but that didn’t happen. Instead every last communication from them seemed sincere but what it boiled down to was not sincere or solutions oriented.
The hot tub was great. The walk to the beach was short and easy, except for one step. My mother walks with a cane and needed help down. The mattresses and bedding were wonderful. Only 2 issues- The balcony view is now obstructed by a new home. And there is tons of construction going on but that’s only temporary. I would book again!
We love the location of this home. Disappointed that there were no comfy chairs on the deck out of the master. It has the best view of the ocean. There’s just two beach chairs for six-year-old up there from Dollar tree store. There’s no chairs on the covered porch next to the hot tub or any place to put your drinks. The home is furnished comfortably. The master bed was very comfortable. There’s no place to put your wet coats or shoes in the house no closets to hang your coats at the beach. found great food in the neighborhood. The home is a very short walk to the beach down a boardwalk.
Good dog friendly getaway. Close to beach. Layout good. We had a 3 month infant enjoying his first vacation family. Lots of seating and sleeping next to open kitchen area to keep bottles filled and sterilized and rotation of sleeping up and downstairs to help parents get their rest. Great fresh seafood at bouy 8 for a seafood extravaganza at the house. Rockfish and prawns excellent and smoked salmon collars and belly to die for. Westport has a great laid back vibe. Marina and shops have a home town appeal. Love tokeland and Nelson’s crab. House well stocked Loved it
I love that it was very close to the beach. It was just a couple minute walk. You could hear the sound of the ocean and see aspects of it from certain points of the house like in the main bath, especially. Not so much from other areas of the home however. It didn’t feel as homey as I was hoping. It was lacking decorative touches. A lot of the walls were mostly bare. There wasn’t a coat rack when you came in to hang your coat on or leashes for the dogs. We had to keep draping them over the couch in the entryway. There weren’t any ways to recline on the deck or patio as there weren’t any chairs out there. That would be nice to have if you want to be able to take in the sounds of the ocean or the sights without standing the whole time. And when you’re on vacation you like to enjoy take time sitting outside and that wasn’t available. They did have a Keurig coffee pot, but didn’t have pods. However they had bags of coffee for individual use which I don’t know why they would’ve supplied those for a Keurig machine. It did feel like the owners weren’t really invested in the property anymore as it had been just put up for sale as well. Luckily, no realtor came by while we were there. There was a sugar ant issue in the master bathroom that needs to be addressed. The beds were comfortable, however the linens were not. Overall, it’s a very nice home-just lacking some things.
First, the postiive. This home is in a great location with a short, easy walk to the beach which is absolutely beautiful. The neighborhood itself, while still under construction, has nice paved sidewalks which was great for dog-walking. The home has a good layout and can easily accomodate a large group. The main negatives are with the maintenance / cleanliness of the house itself presumably due to Vacasa, the property management company. The biggest issue was that there was absolutely no hot water and minimal water pressure in the kitchen, which - if you look through past reviews - another guest pointed out back in June of 2025. This has still not been resolved. The second biggest issue was the lack of cleanliness, both inside and outside the house. There was garbage/debris scattered across the yard when we arrived and we saw at least 3 piles of dog poo on the property. Many of the towels, while technically laundered, had very noticeable black and brown stains - like they’d been used for cleaning then thrown in the wash. They were extremely thin, and pretty gross, and something you’d expect at a roadside motel but not at the high nightly prices we were being charged. The dishwasher, oven, and fridge all needed deep cleaning both inside and out. For a house that boasts it can accommodate 8 people, there were only 3 coffee mugs and two wine glasses. Kitchen utensils were a sparse mishmash, with several broken, and the cutlery looked super cheap. A recessed light in the living room was hanging down from the ceiling. Cobwebs were seen on light fixtures and some dead insects in the corners of the living room. The ongoing construction noise next door along with the accompanying very loud music the crew played from sunup to sundown, all of which was intrusively loud from inside the house let alone if you wanted to relax in the hot tub, was a real buzz kill for what was supposed to be a relaxing holiday getaway. That is certainly not Vacasa's or the homeowner's fault, but we have seen other vacation homes in the past warn that there was nearby construction ahead of booking and often offer a reduced rate. The night we checked in, we received an automated request to rate the cleanliness of the home. We brought up the above issues and the lack of hot water. What was clearly a chatbot requested photos to send to the local management team. We sent photos, and were told once again, they'd be sent to the local management team to address the issues. We stayed at the house a full week and never heard back from anyone - chatbot or human. For the price Vacasa charges for this place, guests should expect much better overall accountability and cleanliness.
