Liked the location and proximity to hikes/grocery and stores. House is old and not very clean in some areas, but functional. Toilets and some appliances needs updates. Liked the sauna.
The location was great, the decor was sweet, but the house was cold and a bit funky.
I loved everything about the place. The coziness, decor, lived in feel. Except there is a mouse issue. A few sightings and droppings in towels and bedding. I didn’t know how to contact owner directly about issue, otherwise I would have because I loved the cabin. Not a fan of going through Vacasa though.
Walking distance to Hyak Trailhead. Beautiful views!!
This is an efficient, cozy ski cabin. The major downside was the chill. No firewood was supplied and although the guidebook said to “feel free to crank the heat” downstairs thermostat appeared to be programmed in such a way that you could not set it higher than 70. We routinely set our home thermostat at 68 and it felt cooler than that. We messaged Vacasa about it and they told us no wood was supplied and did not offer a solution about the thermostat so we all layered up the first night until we were able to purchase wood at the Chevron.
The house is not new (built in 1973 or so) but well maintained and cozy - you could really feel the care put into it and lots of things to enjoy. We especially liked sitting as a family in the main room and around the big dinner table as well as hot sauna - a great and unique feature especially for the winter time! Bedrooms and bathrooms are all clean and comfy as well! Good noise isolation - we had 7 people and everyone felt enough privacy and room for him or herself. Very good impression overall and a good value for money. And Vacasa staff was very helpful at every step of the way! Thanks!!!
