Our main purpose was to visit snoqualmie tunnel and this is close enough,
Everything was fine overall. However, there was no hot water on the day we arrived, so we were unable to shower. It took one day to fix the issue. Since we were in town for a marathon, this was very inconvenient.
The house is great being close to the mountain and main roads. Communication from the Vacasa team didn't exist other than automated messaging.
We absolutely loved it! Lots of space for big company, plenty entertainment, many beds and sofas, cozy and comfortable, fireplace, full kitchen. Fantastic location, 4 cars park, near resort.
Booked a different unit than this (just a few doors away) and was told the morning of the reservation (while en route to the property on a long car trip with a toddler) that the unit we booked was unavailable due to "no hot water." Vacasa customer service (to their great credit) was very helpful in getting us moved to this property last minute. However, as we entered the main road where this cabin (and many others) are located, we drove RIGHT PAST the unit we had initially booked. There were people there the entire time, and a large school bus parked where we would have parked our car. It's possible these were maintenance folks onsite to repair the broken hot water, however it looked from a casual observation to be other guests (or the owner themselves) enjoying their unit... which is fine, but then don't offer it up for rent on these dates. We were grateful Vacasa rebooked us so close and so quickly to this unit, however the new unit was a downgrade (cleanliness, amenities, child safety). Beware of the extremely heavy cast iron skillets hanging from the open stairway - definitely not ideal for small curious kids. Fine for adults, but this unit is listed as "family friendly." Also the dishwasher door is broken and almost every dish and cup looked like it was dirty when we arrived. And the laundry room only had one detergent pod in an otherwise completely empty detergent bin. We had a fine time, but it did feel like we got scammed into accepting a subpar unit by renting a unit nearby that the owner never intended to offer. The timing of the "no hot water" notice happened a little too close to the reservation to feel legit - it was so close to the reservation time that - in fact - we kept receiving check-in instructions to the original unit despite it being no longer available. I wonder if anyone else has had a similar experience with this property or others nearby in this part of Snoqualamie.
The space and the people that could sleep there was good, but the overall experience was subpar. The house is very old and outdated and the moment we walked in it smelled musty. The toilet seat was broken, but the repair deck very quickly the next day. There is no TV! There is an old vacuum TV, but it only shows videos with a VCR. In our bedroom, the ceiling was leaking water from the shower above the last two days we were there. The place is somewhere scenic, but it’s 15 minutes from Seattle and an hour and a half to Mount Rainier but it’s in the center of everything so that’s OK. Once I did bring up the situations they were very quick to respond. Hopefully these annoyances will be remedied for the next renter.
