Plenty of beautiful space awaits where you can cook out on the grill, use the outdoor pizza oven, enjoy meals on the deck, roast marshmallows or drink wine by the firepit, play yard games, including beanbag toss, ax throwing (plastic), and fishing equipment, or hunt for berries and wildflowers, and simply enjoy the seclusion. Rating
The best thing about Wine and Roses was the large expanse of land. Our two Golden Retrievers loved it as did my husband! The house is small but that's ok. The furniture is a little dated but that was ok with us, as well. Since I am temporarily in a wheelchair, I loved the fact that the master bathroom had bars installed in the shower. The house has a large supply of pots and pans and cooking utensils. A little bit better stocked pantry (only spices were there) would be helpful as the closest grocery stores (aside from the "mart" attached to a gas station) were over 30 minutes away. But, all in all, we had a great stay. Loved exploring the lakes and little towns.
Property is in a nice country setting,
The house is clean and comfortable and has everything you need. They have included fun touches like a plastic axe throwing set and cornhole as well as a fire pit with wood available on site. The kitchen is adequately equipped. Surrounded by woods, you get to see lots of deer, squirrels, and groundhogs.
The house is central (30 minutes to Corning, Watkins Glen and Lake Kauka communities. The property was clean and met our needs. The four star rating has more to do with its rural location. The nearest full size grocery store is also 30 minutes away. Located on a hilltop, it has a beautiful view. If we ever revisit the area I would rent this house again.
It was immaculately clean . It had everything that you would need there. Air conditioners in bedrooms would be helpful. Love the fire pit and the lights along the driveway! It was a quiet and serene experience allowing relaxation! Loved it! Mau and Jim
I felt like I was on an oasis from the crowds and traffic. The house was snug, comfortable and very clean and the host could not have been better. The land, however, was the star of the show! The platau sprawls and the hiking trails are phenominal! We saw wild turkey, lots of dear, hummingbirds and so much more including a BALD EAGLE! Drinking wine by the firepit on a clear night under the abundance of stars was sureal! Although it's so secluded, it's close to the attractions the area has to offer. I CAN'T WAIT TO COME BACK!!!
