Seneca Overlook Getaway

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the house and apartment. The location was very convenient to the Finger Lakes and just a few miles outside of Watkins Glen. The house had a wonderful great room that encompassed the kitchen, dining area and living room. The view across the lake is fabulous and worked out well for watching a bunch of fireworks on July 4th. It was extremely clean and well looked after. All the workout equipment was a plus and our son enjoyed using it. A few points that pulled the review from five stars to four stars - There was a very strong sulfur smell from the well water. It subsided after a couple of days of showers and water use but it was noticeable even when the water was turned off. I do not recall seeing this mentioned in the listing but it was mentioned in the check-in email. They did indicate the water was safe despite the smell. - AC in the apartment took about two days to cool the place down to a reasonable temperature. We were there for what was probably be one of the hottest weeks of the year (high 90s/low 100s) but that was a long time to cool it down. - The house is on a road with a 55 mph speed limit and just below a curve on the uphill side. We didn’t have any issues as the road was not overly busy but once you commit to exiting the driveway it’s important not to hesitate.

This house was beautiful. It was larger than expected, had an amazing view of the lake, and was very clean and well-stocked. I would recommend this property to anyone.
