Belle's Buttercup

What a lovely, secluded, and quiet spot - even on the 4th of July. The AC was perfection on some seriously sweltering days. We loved the easy access to the water AND some top notch vineyards. We had a delightful stay and can’t wait to return next summer for an even longer stay!

We loved the rustic cabin feel and old time charm of Belle's, which offered ample sitting and viewing areas for nature's wonders and spectacular gardens and sunrises over the lake! The furniture was very comfortable. We enjoyed boating and swimming in the lake and hot tub. We were thrilled by the raging Glenora Falls up the road and enamored by the beautiful, less robust waterfall at Belle's (across the road behind the trash bins), which fed into a little fall on Belle's beach. We were lucky enough to see a family of otters by the beach. We also spotted a large male silk moth that looked like a dead leaf. The spiders made beautiful webs in the gardens which glistened in the sunlight.

We loved how quaint this home was. Downstairs updated with newer windows/flooring. Upstairs was rustic, but warm. A ton of old lamps in this house added to the charm as well. Although it was cold outside and the door seals were not great, the wall heaters and gas fireplaces were AWESOME!! I truly did not want to leave. The stove and wall oven in the kitchen was great for cooking our Thanksgiving meal. We would love to visit again!!

Beds were comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked. View was great. House/location was quiet and peaceful. The exterior of the house was covered in cobwebs, unlike the photos, and be prepared that the house is pretty rickety and doesn't have insulation. We encountered quite a few bugs inside like large spiders, a few cockroaches, and an earth worm in the shower. I feel like the house just isn't all that well sealed up from the elements. Also, if you are taller than about 5' 7" you will need to duck in some places, and if you are taller than 6' you need to duck in quite a few places. I just walked around hunched over the whole time. Overall we had a nice visit, but I wanted to share a few warnings since I didn't see many of these things pop up in other reviews.
