Perfect place to get away for the weekend

Hannah H2026-07-15

This cabin is one in a million. If you’re looking for a peaceful place to stay, with an exceptional view, reserve this beautiful home. It served as a perfect space for two, with all the appliances you would need for daily use. The home owners are very, very kind. They will bring you a nice smile and give you all the privacy you need to enjoy a nice little get away. I highly recommend this cabin on such a beautiful island!

The views are awesome! However, you have to make sure the owners are not around or it will be a bit awkward sharing the backyard with them since you are basically 10 ft away from there house. Also, the parking can be a bit tricky since you are sharing it with the owners as well. Overall, its a bit pricey for the lack of privacy.

The photos tell lies, vegetation is not trimmed back like in the photos. The cottage is very small, the photos are taken in a way to make it feel bigger. It is 5’ from the main house, one photo does show that, but there is no context to the photo and it does not look like the house. The parking is adequate until the owner decides to park where they tell you to instead of the area that is next to their front door, making it tight with a larger vehicle. The cottage was very clean, no complaints there. The toilet is smaller than one from my rv. The rest of the bathroom was adequate. Half of the cottage feels like it is falling down the cliff that the property is located on, definitely not level. I would not recommend this property to anyone, ever, especially for what I paid for the 2 day stay. I feel cheated.

The view was very relaxing; the amenities were simple but convenient.

Decided to take a solo trip to the island to get out of Seattle, was excited to stay in what I thought was going to be a cozy, warm cottage that I could sit inside and decompress in. I really didn’t want to be outside around people. Got to the home at 5:15pm, walked in and the place was frigid. I think a bit inconsiderate in the middle of winter to not preheat a vacation rental to at least 68 degrees? I guess I'll start with heat; or lack of- I was shivering the entire time I was in there. Instead of doing what I wanted which was avoiding public- I had to get up and leave just to stay warm in a book store or diner most of the days I was there. The heaters barely worked, all of them. I had to sleep with two sweaters and two pairs of socks on. The blankets were thin and I had to use every one I could find plus sheets to try and stay warm in bed. At one point, I decided to crank the heat as high as it would go because I could see my breath. I know the place was not 80 degrees which is what I had the temperature set to and the heaters would not turn on. It was below 34 degrees outside, god forbid your guests stay warm enough to take their outside layers off. The place is maybe 450 sq ft, is heating it really that much to ask? The 10am check out is also a bit insane I might add. For as little space there is to actually clean..? And from what I found under the bed I don't think it actually has been deep cleaned between guests. My last night there, my headphones fell behind the bed when I was sleeping so I moved the bed and there was not only a used condom wrapper, but bug carcasses. As happy as it makes me that people are practicing safe sex I don’t want to be reminded of it on my solo trip. Someone mentioned the mattress being insanely uncomfortable- I can attest to that. I think mattress technology has advanced past the point of needing something comparable to that of one in a daycare. Especially for a vacation rental. The bot response to address all of these concerns that have been repeated for months, clearly are just that- bots. This was not my first choice, it was again a last minute, city fatigue quick getaway that was booked day of. Will not be returning or recommending, well maybe to my old boss.
