What we loved: the view! The deck! The eagles and ospreys nesting so near you can hear them from the bedroom! The beautifully appointed full service kitchen! The great big laundry room and all the towels and pillows you could ever want. This is clearly a well-loved and cared-for home where you can imagine generations of family having the time of their lives. We also loved: the super-convenient location at the center of everything happening on Whidbey Island, and the mainland. The cute town of Langley 15 minutes, a full service grocery and pharmacy 5 minutes, Deception Pass and the Mainland in under an hour. We could not have been happier with our stay—so much so, that when we checked out, we checked right back in for the next week. 3 couples, even with some children, could easily stay here in the 3 separate and private suites with a central kitchen, living, dining, and outdoor area. One important note: WiFi on the “Vacasa Guest” router is spotty and 5G service is also not super reliable. If you are coming to disconnect from everything and just enjoy the peace and wonder, this is the place for you. If you need to check in at work, especially if there are multiple people in your party who need to connect, be advised. Otherwise, we can’t recommend this place enough. Even at this price, it’s cheaper than Summer weekend rate at the nicest inn in town. A great value and a wonderful retreat.
The deck was spectacular!
This was our 5th trip to Puget Sound and I will have to say that it was our most memorable. The grounds of the house were amazing and would have made a memorable stay in and of themselves, until you get to the view of Mutiny Bay, which was truly breathtaking. We collectively tried to find words to describe the insides of the house, using words from unique to eccentric, with each of us commenting on favorites of the different paintings and decor throughout the house. As for the layout of the home, we had 3 couples, one having 2 kiddos with them and there was the feeling of the ability to come together while each group having ample personal space. The proximity to great little towns and amazing restaurants as well as simple access to the airport vs. other stays we have had adds to how amazing this house really is. As we have always tried to experience all the different parts of Puget Sound and so have changed up houses and places, both my daughters requested that we revisit this property as for us it was perfect. P.S. Not wanting to let out an amazing secret, but this was the most magical 4th of July anyone in my family has experienced!
House has an incredible view! It’s very large with plenty of room to spread out & lots of outdoor space to watch the incredible sunsets. House is like a well preserved time capsule! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
The view is so stunning that it bumped the rating to a 3. Sunsets were amazing. House is very large with multiple gathering areas separated by walls or doorways. Ok place to stay with family but wouldn’t want to go with multiple families due there are only 3 private bedrooms, and 2 of those didn’t have a closet. Need a car to get anywhere. Slightly busy road for walking. Ok stay. Would not choose again. Did not have good expert with Vacasa as management company.
We are six women in our 70s and 80s and loved the amazing views from almost all the rooms, elegant and comfortable furnishings, very well stocked kitchen, spaciousness, and quiet. We wish there were manuals and better response to service calls when we were unable to operate something!
