I can't find the correct adjectives to tell you how much we enjoyed this house. The views, looking at Mt. Rushmore illuminated at night from the hot tub, relaxing on the decks....you only see one house from any direction. The seclusion and quiet were so relaxing. Yet, you're close to many of local sights. Then the theater room. The excellent appointed kitchen. I TRULY didn't want to leave. This home is truly special. I can't wait to go back.
This was, without question, the most incredible Vacasa home I’ve ever stayed in. Perched at approximately 4,500 feet on 17 private acres, the views were absolutely breathtaking—including Mount Rushmore in the distance. The peace and quiet were something special. It truly felt like our own private mountain retreat, yet it was perfectly located just minutes from Keystone and the Mount Rushmore festivities. The home was clean, beautifully maintained, and stocked with everything we could possibly need. The Vacasa management team was also wonderful, making the entire experience seamless from beginning to end. I had been dreaming about attending the July 3, 2026 250th Mount Rushmore celebration for over two years, and this home made the entire trip even more memorable than I ever imagined. The quarter-mile gravel road leading up the mountain is steep, winding, and definitely an adventure—but once you reach the top, you’ll understand why it’s worth every turn. The spectacular views, complete privacy, and peaceful surroundings made this a stay I’ll never forget. I would return in a heartbeat and recommend this home to anyone looking for an unforgettable Black Hills experience. Thank you Keystone South Dakota for making the 250th birthday of America even more special than I could ever imagine. Truly EPIC… super grateful!!! Jeanne, Gerard, Kelly, and Mike.
Always enjoy our annual visit back to the Hills, This is the place we will return to often.
This place is fantastic! The views were breathtaking. My kids are already asking if we can stay there again sometime.
Pros: The house is in an excellent location, just 15 mins from Rapid City and Mt. Rushmore. Views are spectacular! House was also extremely clean and the kitchen was well-stocked. Wifi worked great. One thing that wasn’t so great was that an alarm went off in the middle off the night (in an area that guests couldn’t access), but management responded immediately in the morning and sent maintenance personnel. Cons: The driveway is a fairly long trek on an unpaved forest road. It takes several minutes to reach the house from the main road. We were happy that we had an SUV with 4 wheel drive. Also, if you are tall, you may want to reconsider this house. The ceilings upstairs and in the lower level living room are very low. Overall, a nice place, especially compared to other options in the area.
We were absolutely over the moon with the beauty of this home. It offers breathtaking views and a truly relaxing atmosphere. It was the perfect place to stay while exploring everything the surrounding area has to offer. Thank you for opening your gorgeous home to us and making our stay so memorable. We created memories that will last a lifetime.
