Deer, Turkeys, Chipmunks, the Quiet. House has everything you will need to have a nice stay. Getting there is a challenge but worth it.
The house was great but the road was very rocky and rough.
An amazing getaway home to share with family and friends.
Loved the quiet, the scenery,
Easy to reserve, pay for, and just everything! Very helpful with any questions that we had. The house was outstanding, and in wonderful condition. I can't say enough good things. Already looking forward to next year.
Log/stone cabin on top hill with private feeling. Only access to house is from the west, either Mount Roosevelt road or Denver street from Deadwood. No road access to the west as it is private property and gated. 7-10 minute drive to downtown Deadwood from house location, mostly due to road condition and needing to drive 10-15 mph. Use Mount Roosevelt road if traveling by car instead of SUV or Truck, which will be 10-15 minutes to downtown Deadwood, but mostly a gravel road in better condition. Nice location with view of Lead fireworks from driveway overlooking the area. Deer and turkeys seen on property. Most days were in the low 80’s and at night in the 60’s, with windows open there is adequate cooling to be comfortable. One day was in the 90’s and it was a little warm at night. There are a few extra fans provided in the house for warmer days like this that make it manageable. A week of 90’s might be a little harder, but one day wasn’t that bad. Basement of house has musty smell showing little use or airflow in that area of the house. Interior of house lacked proper arrival cleaning and we had to do a few things ourselves, including washing some bedding. Reluctant to rent at this location again based on cleanliness issues, otherwise would have considered this house for a future vacation. We have rented 2 other houses in Deadwood area in the past 2 years, both of which with a much cleaner feeling.
