Tybee Lights

We traveled 16 hours from ohio only to find out when we entered the home that the balcony was unaccessible, which was the #1 reason I booked. For an ocean view.....from the balcony, not from the windows. The photo that is used as the cover photo for advertisement is the "spacious deck" with a view. We were not given any sort of heads up that it was unsafe or an option to move to a different room and by the time we checked in, everything was booked and we had no where else to go. The deck was covered in caution tape, boarded up, with old rusty beach chairs and not even cleaned up. Quite the eye sore. Although the lady I spoke to was super nice, we were only offered $90 in reimbursement when we paid over $1100. We did finally settle on $200 which I still thought was unfair but I wanted to spend time with my family and not be on the phone any longer. We have yet to receive that reimbursement. My baby crawled around on the floor in the living room all of 10 minutes and his toes and knees were black. Honestly, I probably won't be back just because of how it was handled and I felt very juked, which is unfortunate because Tybee is one of my favorite vacation spots.

Bottom line…. I was not informed about the deck being unusable. I booked this trip for my mothers 80th birthday so she could see the ocean. Unfortunately this did not happen. She was very disappointed and saddened by this limitation. In addition, the property website listed cable as an amenity but there was not a cable box or provider available. Initially, it was impossible to get in touch with Vacasa with all numbers being disconnected. Eventually I found someone who has offered a small refund which I am hoping will show up soon. Please be up front with future customers. This was a very bad look for your company.

Good potential - but the property needs to be updated. Also, until that back deck is repaired, the rate should go down and there should be communication in advance.

The unit was unsanitary. From the baseboards looking like they haven’t been cleaned in years. To the dishes having a very foul odor. The ceiling above the dining room table had water damage, the shower was directly above the dining room table and it also had a soft spot. The AC did not work in the master bedroom and the ceiling fan also barely working. Nowhere did the host mention that the balcony was under construction. We arrived with boards over the balcony door Overall, this unit needs a very deep clean and/or renovations. As it currently stands this unit is unfit to stay in.

Located in a great spot on the beach which never got too busy. Walkable to the only beachfront restaurant on Tybee, The Deck.
